Beis Shammai say: We may not remove the shutters on Yom Tov. But Beis Hillel permit even their replacement. Beis Shammai say: We may not take the pestle to chop meat upon it. But Beis Hillel permit it. Beis Shammai say: We may not put the hide [of a freshly slaughtered animal] where it will be trampled, nor may we pick it up, unless meat the volume of an olive is on it. But Beis Hillel permit it. Beis Shammai say: We may not carry out, neither a small child, nor a lulav, nor a Torah scroll to the public domain. But Beis Hillel permit it.

Beis Shammai say: We may not deliver challah, or [the Kohen’s] gifts, to a Kohen on Yom Tov — whether they were separated yesterday or they were separated today. But Beis Hillel permit it. Beis Shammai said to them: There is an analogy. Challah and gifts are grants to the Kohen and terumah is a grant to the Kohen. Just as we may not bring the terumah [to the Kohen on Yom Tov], so may we not bring the gifts. Beis Hillel answered them: No [it is not analogous]! If you say so regarding terumah which one may not separate [on Yom Tov], will you also say the same thing regarding gifts which one may separate [on Yom Tov]?
