[If] an aris protrudes from an embankment — R’ Eliezer ben Yaakov says: If while standing on the ground one can pick it completely, it prohibits four cubits in the field; if not, it prohibits only across from it. R’ Eliezer says: Even if someone plants one on the ground and one on the embankment, if it is higher than the ground by ten handbreadths, it is not combined with it; but if not, then it combines with it.

[If] someone trains a grapevine along part of a lattice, he may not bring foreign seed under the rest. If he brought, it is not condemned. But if the new growth extended out, it becomes forbidden. Similarly, if someone trains [a vine] on part of a barren tree.
