הַמְּקַיֵּם קוֹצִים בַּכֶּרֶם, רַבִּי אֱלִיעֶזֶר אוֹמֵר: קִדֵּשׁ. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: לֹא קִדֵּשׁ אֶלָּא דָּבָר שֶׁכָּמוֹהוּ מְקַיְּמִין.
הָאֵרוּס, וְהַקִּיסּוֹם, וְשׁוֹשַׁנַּת הַמֶּלֶךְ וְכָל מִינֵי זְרָעִים אֵינָן כִּלְאַיִם בַּכֶּרֶם.
הַקִּנְבָּס — רַבִּי טַרְפוֹן אוֹמֵר: אֵינוֹ כִּלְאַיִם. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: כִּלְאַיִם.
וְהַקִּינְרָס כִּלְאַיִם בַּכֶּרֶם.
[If] someone maintains thistles in a vineyard, R’ Eliezer says: This condemns. But the Sages say: Nothing condemns except something the likes of which is maintained.
The iris, and the kissom, and the shoshanas hamelech and all [similar] varieties of plants are not kilayim in the vineyard.
Hemp — R’ Tarfon says: It is not kilayim. But the Sages say: It is kilayim.
Globe artichoke is kilayim in the vineyard.

אֵיזֶהוּ עָרִיס? הַנּוֹטֵעַ שׁוּרָה שֶׁל חָמֵשׁ גְּפָנִים בְּצַד הַגָּדֵר שֶׁהוּא גָּבֹהַּ עֲשָׂרָה טְפָחִים, אוֹ בְצַד חָרִיץ שֶׁהוּא עָמֹק עֲשָׂרָה טְפָחִים וְרָחָב אַרְבָּעָה, נוֹתְנִין לוֹ עֲבוֹדָתוֹ אַרְבַּע אַמּוֹת.
בֵּית שַׁמַּאי אוֹמְרִים: מוֹדְדִין אַרְבַּע אַמּוֹת מֵעִקַּר הַגְּפָנִים לַשָּׂדֶה. וּבֵית הִלֵּל אוֹמְרִים: מִן הַגָּדֵר לַשָּׂדֶה.
אָמַר רַבִּי יוֹחָנָן בֶּן נוּרִי: טוֹעִים, כָּל הָאוֹמְרִים כֵּן. אֶלָּא, אִם יֶשׁ שָׁם אַרְבַּע אַמּוֹת מֵעִקַּר גְּפָנִים וְלַגָּדֵר, נוֹתְנִין לוֹ אֶת עֲבוֹדָתוֹ וְזוֹרֵעַ אֶת הַמּוֹתָר.
וְכַמָּה הִיא עֲבוֹדַת הַגֶּפֶן? שִׁשָּׁה טְפָחִים לְכָל רוּחַ. רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא אוֹמֵר: שְׁלֹשָׁה.
What is an aris? [If] someone plants a row of five vines next to a wall which is ten handbreadths high, or next to a ditch which is ten handbreadths deep and four wide, we give this for its work area four cubits.
Beis Shammai say: We measure the four cubits from the base of the vines to the field. But Beis Hillel say: From the wall to the field.
Said R’ Yochanan ben Nuri: They err, all those who say so. Rather, if there are four cubits from the base of the vines to the wall, we give it its work area and he may plant the remainder.
And how much is the work area of a vine? Six handbreadths in every direction. R’ Akiva says: Three.
