רַבִּי אֱלִיעֶזֶר אוֹמֵר: קַרְקַע בֵּית רוֹבַע חַיֶּבֶת בְּפֵאָה. רַבִּי יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אוֹמֵר: הָעוֹשָׂה סָאתַיִם. רַבִּי טַרְפוֹן אוֹמֵר: שִׁשָּׁה עַל שִׁשָּׁה טְפָחִים. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה בֶן בְּתֵירָה אוֹמֵר: כְּדֵי לִקְצוֹר וְלִשְׁנוֹת. וַהֲלָכָה כִּדְבָרָיו. רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא אוֹמֵר: קַרְקַע כָּל שֶׁהוּא חַיֶבֶת בְּפֵאָה, וּבְבִכּוּרִים, וְלִכְתּוֹב עָלֶיהָ פְּרוֹזְבּוּל, וְלִקְנוֹת עִמָּהּ נְכָסִים שֶׁאֵין לָהֶם אַחֲרָיוּת בְּכֶסֶף וּבִשְׁטָר וּבַחֲזָקָה.
R' Eliezer says: Land with the capacity for [planting] a quarter-kav [of seed] is subject to peah. R' Yehoshua says: One which yields two seahs. R' Tarfon says: Six by six handbreadths. R' Yehudah ben Beseirah says: Enough to reap [a fistful] and repeat. And the law follows his words. R' Akiva says: Land of any size is subject to peah, and to bikkurim, to write against it a prozbul, and to acquire along with it things that offer no sec- urity, by money, by deed, or by an act of possession.

הַכּוֹתֵב נְכָסָיו שְׁכִיב מְרַע, שִׁיֵּר קַרְקַע כָּל שֶׁהוּא — מַתְּנָתוֹ מַתָּנָה; לֹא שִׁיֵּר קַרְקַע כָּל שֶׁהוּא — אֵין מַתְּנָתוֹ מַתָּנָה. הַכּוֹתֵב נְכָסָיו לְבָנָיו, וְכָתַב לְאִשְׁתּוֹ קַרְקַע כָּל שֶׁהוּא — אִבְּדָה כְתֻבָּתָהּ. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: אִם קִבְּלָה עָלֶיהָ, אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁלֹּא כָתַב לָהּ — אִבְּדָה כְתֻבָּתָהּ.
[If] one writes over his property [to others] while he is lying ill —- [if] he leaves land of any size [for himself], his gift is a gift; [if] he leaves no land at all [for himself], his gift is not a gift. [If] one writes over his property to his sons, and assigns to his wife land of any size, she loses her marriage settlement. R' Yose says: If she accepts, then even though he did not assign her [anything], she loses her marriage settlement.
