חוּט הַמִּשְׁקֹלֶת — שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר. שֶׁל חָרָשִׁין — שְׁמוֹנָה עָשָׂר. שֶׁל בַּנָּיִין — חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה. יָתֵר מִכָּאן, אִם רָצָה לְקַיֵּם — טָהוֹר. שֶׁל סַיָּדִין וְשֶׁל צַיָּרִין — כָּל שֶׁהֵן.
The cord of a plummet, [its measure] is twelve. [The plummet cord] of carpenters, [its measure is] eighteen. [That] of builders, [its measure is] fifty amos. More than [these lengths], [even] if one desires to retain it, is tahor. [Those] of plasterers and of artists, [their measure is] any length.
