The following [women] bring [an offering] but it is not eaten: She who aborts, but it is not known what she aborted, and likewise, two women who aborted, one of a category that is exempt and one of a category that is liable. Said R’ Yose: When? When this one went east and this one went west, but if both were present together, they bring an offering and it is eaten.

The following do not bring [an offering]: [She who aborts a shell filled with water, or filled with blood, or filled with a varicolored substance; she who aborts something resembling fish, locusts, abominated creatures, or crawling things; she who aborts on the fortieth day, or one who delivers by Caesarean section. R’ Shimon declares liable one who delivers by Caesarean section.
