בַּלֶּשֶׁת עוֹבְדֵי כּוֹכָבִים שֶׁנִּכְנְסָה לָעִיר בִּשְׁעַת שָׁלוֹם, חָבִיּוֹת פְּתוּחוֹת — אֲסוּרוֹת; סְתוּמוֹת — מֻתָּרוֹת. בִּשְׁעַת מִלְחָמָה — אֵלּוּ וָאֵלּוּ מֻתָּרוֹת, לְפִי שֶׁאֵין פְּנַאי לְנַסֵּךְ.

[If] a troop of idolater soldiers entered the city —- in peacetime, open barrels are prohibited [while] sealed ones are permit-ted; in wartime, both are permitted because there is no time to perform libation.
