These matters [of dispute] are from the leniencies of Beis Shammai and from the stringencies of Beis Hillel: An egg that was laid on Yom Tov, Beis Shammai say [that] it may be eaten, but Beis Hillel say [that] it may not be eaten. Beis Shammai say: Leaven the volume of an olive and chametz the volume of a date [are prohibited on Pesach]. But Beis Hillel say: [Both] this and that [are prohibited if they are the volume] of an olive.
