Beis Shammai say: We may not send [presents] on Yom Tov with the exception of [readied] portions. But Beis Hillel say: We may send domestic animals, beasts or fowl, whether alive or slaughtered. We may send wines, oils, fine flours and pulse, but not grain. But R’ Shimon permits grain [to be sent].

We may send garments, whether sewn up or not sewn up, even if they contain a mixture of wool and linen, because they enhance the [enjoyment of] Yom Tov. But [we may] not [send] a sandal with spikes, nor an unsewn shoe. Rabbi Yehudah says: Not even a white shoe [may be sent], because it requires a craftsman. This is the rule: Whatever can be used may be sent on Yom Tov.
