One who slaughters a beast or a fowl on Yom Tov — Beis Shammai say: He may dig with a spade and cover [the blood]. But Beis Hillel say: He may not slaughter, unless he had earth prepared from the day before. But they agree that if he already slaughtered, he should dig with a spade and cover [the blood with earth] — for the ashes of a stove are [considered] prepared.
