הָרוֹאֶה קֶרִי אֵינוֹ מִטַּמֵּא בְּזִיבָה מֵעֵת לְעֵת. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: יוֹמוֹ.  גּוֹי שֶׁרָאָה קֶרִי וְנִתְגַּיֵר — מִיָּד הוּא מִטַּמֵּא בְּזִיבָה.  הָרוֹאָה דָּם, וְהַמְקַשָּׁה — מֵעֵת לְעֵת. וְהַמַּכֶּה אֶת עַבְדּוֹ «יוֹם יוֹמַיִם» — מֵעֵת לְעֵת.  כֶּלֶב שֶׁאָכַל בְּשַׂר הַמֵּת — שְׁלֹשָׁה יָמִים מֵעֵת לְעֵת הֲרֵי הוּא כִּבְרִיָּתוֹ.
Someone who has a seminal emission does not become tamei through a zov emission for [the following] twenty-four hours. R’ Yose says: [Only] that day.  [Regarding] a non-Jew who had a seminal emission and then converted, he can immedi-ately become tamei through a zov [emission].  [Regarding a woman] who has [a discharge of] blood, and [a woman] who has a difficult [labor], a twenty-four-hour period. And [regarding] the “day [or] two days” [for] someone who strikes his slave, [it is] a twenty-four-hour period.  [Regarding] a dog which ate flesh of a corpse, for three twenty-four-hour periods [the flesh] is in its natural state.

הַזָּב מְטַמֵּא אֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּב בַּחֲמִשָּׁה דְרָכִים, לְטַמֵּא אָדָם לְטַמֵּא בְגָדִים: עוֹמֵד, יוֹשֵׁב, שׁוֹכֵב, נִתְלֶה, וְנִשְׁעָן.  וְהַמִּשְׁכָּב מְטַמֵּא אֶת הָאָדָם בְּשִׁבְעָה דְרָכִים לְטַמֵּא בְגָדִים: עוֹמֵד, יוֹשֵׁב, שׁוֹכֵב, נִתְלֶה, וְנִשְׁעָן, בְּמַגָּע, וּבְמַשָּׂא:
A zav contaminates a couch in [one of] five ways, [rendering the couch able] to con-taminate a man to contaminate [his] clothing: [by the zav] standing [on it], sitting [on it], lying [on it], hanging [on it], or leaning [on it].   The [contaminated] couch [of a zav] contaminates a man in [one of] seven ways to [the degree that the man will further] contaminate [his] clothing: [by the man] standing [on it], sitting [on it], lying [on it], hanging [on it], or leaning [on it], [and] through contact, and through carrying.

הַזָּב וְהַטָּהוֹר שֶׁיָּשְׁבוּ בִסְפִינָה אוֹ בְאַסְדָּא, אוֹ שֶׁרָכְבוּ עַל גַּבֵּי בְהֵמָה, אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁאֵין בִּגְדֵיהֶם נוֹגְעִים — הֲרֵי אֵלּוּ טְמֵאִים מִדְרָס.  יָשְׁבוּ עַל הַנֶּסֶר, עַל הַסַּפְסָל, עַל הַגָּשִׁישׁ שֶׁל מִטָּה, וְעַל הָאַכְלוֹנָס בִּזְמַן שֶׁהֵן מַחְגִּירִין; עָלוּ בְּאִילָן שֶׁכֹּחוֹ רָע, בְּסוֹכָה שֶׁכֹּחָהּ רָע, בְּאִילָן יָפֶה, בְּסֻלָּם מִצְרִי בִּזְמַן שֶׁאֵינוֹ קָבוּעַ בְּמַסְמֵר; עַל הַכֶּבֶשׁ וְעַל הַקּוֹרָה וְעַל הַדֶּלֶת בִּזְמַן שֶׁאֵין עֲשׂוּיִין בְּטִיט — טְמֵאִים. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה מְטַהֵר.
[If] a zav and a tahor [person] sat [together] in a boat or a raft, or rode [together] on an animal, even though their clothes do not touch, the [clothes of the tahor person] become contaminated with midras tumah.  [If] they sat [together] on a board, on a bench, on the support beam of a bed or on a pole that are unsteady; [if] they [both] climbed up a weak tree, [or onto] a weak branch of a strong tree, [or onto] an Egyptian ladder that is not anchored with a nail; [if they went together] onto a ramp, a beam or a door that are not secured with plaster; [in all of these cases,] they become tamei. R’ Yehudah rules [them] tahor.
Zavim3: 2
מְגִיפִין אוֹ פוֹתְחִין. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא זֶה מֵגִיף וְזֶה פּוֹתֵחַ.  מַעֲלִין זֶה אֶת זֶה מִן הַבּוֹר. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא הַטָּהוֹר מַעֲלֶה אֶת הַטָּמֵא.  מַפְשִׁילִין בַּחֲבָלִין. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: עַד שֶׁיִּהְיֶה זֶה מוֹשֵׁךְ הֵילָךְ וְזֶה מוֹשֵׁךְ הֵילָךְ.  אוֹרְגִים בֵּין בְּעוֹמְדִין בֵּין בְּיוֹשְׁבִין, אוֹ טוֹחֲנִין. רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן מְטַהֵר בְּכֻלָּן, חוּץ מִן הַטּוֹחֲנִין בְּרֵחַיִם שֶׁל יָד.  פּוֹרְקִין מִן הַחֲמוֹר אוֹ טוֹעֲנִין, בִּזְמַן שֶׁמַּשָּׂאָם כָּבֵד — טְמֵאִין; בִּזְמַן שֶׁמַּשָּׂאָם קַל — טְהוֹרִין. וְכֻלָּן טְהוֹרִין לִבְנֵי הַכְּנֶסֶת, וּטְמֵאִין לַתְּרוּמָה.
[If, together, a zav and a tahor person] close [a door] or open [a door, tumah is transmitted]. But the Sages say: Only when one closes [the door] and one opens [it, will tumah be transmitted].  [If] one raises the other from a pit [either way, tumah is transmitted]. But R’ Yehudah says: Only when the tahor person raises the zav [will tumah be transmitted].  [If, together,] they twist ropes [tumah is transmitted]. But the Sages say: Only when one pulls this way, and the other pulls that way [will tumah be transmitted].  [If, together,] they weave, whether [they do so] standing or sitting; or [if, together,] they grind [grain, tumah is transmitted]. R’ Shimon rules all of these tahor, except when they grind [together] with a hand grinder.  [If, together,] they unload a donkey or load a donkey —- when the load is heavy, they become tamei. When the load is light, they remain tahor. [However,] in all cases, they remain tahor [with regard] to [their status as] common people; they are [on-ly deemed] tamei [with regard] to [their permissibility to eat] terumah.

הַזָּב וְהַטָּהוֹר שֶׁיָּשְׁבוּ בִּסְפִינָה גְדוֹלָה; אֵיזוֹ הִיא סְפִינָה גְדוֹלָה? רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר כֹּל שֶׁאֵינָהּ יְכוֹלָה לְהָמִיט בָּאָדָם. יָשְׁבוּ עַל הַנֶּסֶר, עַל הַסַּפְסָל, עַל הַגָּשִׁישׁ שֶׁל מִטָּה וְעַל הָאַכְלוֹנָס בִּזְמַן שֶׁאֵינָן מַחְגִּירִין; עָלוּ בְּאִילָן שֶׁכֹּחוֹ יָפֶה, בְּסוֹכָה שֶׁכֹּחָהּ יָפֶה, וּבְסֻלָּם צוֹרִי אוֹ מִצְרִי בִּזְמַן שֶׁהוּא קָבוּעַ בְּמַסְמֵר; עַל הַכֶּבֶשׁ, עַל הַקּוֹרָה, וְעַל הַדֶּלֶת בִּזְמַן שֶׁהֵן עֲשׂוּיִין בְּטִיט אֲפִלּוּ מִצַּד אֶחָד — טְהוֹרִין.  הַטָּהוֹר מַכֶּה אֶת הַטָּמֵא — טָהוֹר. הַטָּמֵא מַכֶּה אֶת הַטָּהוֹר — טָמֵא, שֶׁאִם יִמָּשֵׁךְ הַטָּהוֹר — הֲרֵי הַטָּמֵא נוֹפֵל.
[If] a zav and a tahor [person] sat [together] in a large boat —- [and] which [boat] is [considered] a “large boat”? R’ Yehudah says: Any [boat] that cannot be swayed by a man —- [or if] they sat [together] on a board, on a bench, on the support beam of a bed, or on a pole that are not unsteady, [or if] they climbed up a strong tree, [or] a strong branch, or a Tyrean ladder, or an Egyptian [ladder] that is anchored with a nail; [or if they went together] onto a ramp, a beam, or a door that are secured with plaster, even if only from one side, [in all these cases] they remain tahor.  [If] the tahor person strikes the tamei [zav], he remains tahor. [However, if] the tamei [zav], strikes the tahor person, [the tahor person] becomes tamei, for if the tahor person would pull away, the tamei [zav] would fall down.

רַבִּי יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אוֹמֵר: נִדָּה שֶׁיָּשְׁבָה עִם הַטְּהוֹרָה בַּמִּטָּה — כִּפָּה שֶׁבְּרֹאשָׁהּ טָמֵא מִדְרָס. יָשְׁבָה בַסְּפִינָה — כֵּלִים שֶׁבְּרֹאשׁ הַנֵּס שֶׁבַּסְּפִינָה טְמֵאִין מִדְרָס.  נוֹטֶלֶת עֲרֵבָה מְלֵאָה בְגָדִים, בִּזְמַן שֶׁמַּשָּׂאָן כָּבֵד — טְמֵאִין. בִּזְמַן שֶׁמַּשָּׂאָן קַל — טְהוֹרִין.  זָב שֶׁהִקִּישׁ עַל כְּצוּצְרָא, וְנָפַל כִּכָּר שֶׁל תְּרוּמָה — טָהוֹר.
R’ Yehoshua says: [If] a niddah sat together with a tahor woman on a bed, the cap on her head contracts midras tumah. If [the niddah] sat in a boat, utensils that are on top of the mast of the boat contract midras tumah. [If the niddah] carries a tub full of clothing, if it is heavy, [the articles of clothing] are [rendered] tamei. If it is light, they remain tahor.  [If] a zav struck [a blow] on a balcony, and [caused] a loaf of terumah [bread] to fall, [the loaf] re-mains tahor.

הִקִּישׁ עַל הַמָּרִישׁ, עַל הַמַּלְבֵּן, עַל הַצִּנּוֹר, וְעַל הַדַּף, אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁהוּא עָשׂוּי בַּחֲבָלִים, עַל הַתַּנּוּר, וְעַל הַיָּם, וְעַל אִצְטְרֻבָּל, וְעַל חֲמוֹר שֶׁל רֵחַיִם שֶׁל יָד, וְעַל סְאָה שֶׁל רֵחַיִם שֶׁל זֵיתִים, רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: אַף עַל קוֹרַת הַבַּלָּנִין — טָהוֹר.
[If the zav] struck [a blow] on a crossbeam, on a frame, on a gutter-board, on a plank —- even though it is [merely] tied down with ropes —- on an oven, on the receptacle [of the flour mill], on the base of a millstone, on the base of a hand[-powered] mill, or on the measure of an olive grinder, [and] R’ Yose says: Additionally, [a zav who strikes] on the beam of the bathhouse attendant; [in all of these cases, the loaf that falls] remains tahor.

הִקִּישׁ עַל הַדֶּלֶת, עַל הַנֶּגֶר, עַל הַמַּנְעוּל, עַל הַמָּשׁוֹט, וְעַל הַקֶּלֶת, וְעַל אִילָן שֶׁכֹּחוֹ רָע, וְעַל סוֹכָה שֶׁכֹּחָהּ רָע, עַל אִילָן יָפֶה, עַל סֻלָּם מִצְרִי בִּזְמַן שֶׁאֵינוֹ קָבוּעַ בְּמַסְמֵר, עַל הַכֶּבֶשׁ, עַל הַקּוֹרָה, וְעַל הַדֶּלֶת בִּזְמַן שֶׁאֵינָן עֲשׂוּיִין בְּטִיט — טְמֵאִין.  עַל הַשִּׁדָּה, עַל הַתֵּבָה, וְעַל הַמִּגְדָּל, טְמֵאִין. רַבִּי נְחֶמְיָה וְרַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן מְטַהֲרִין בָּאֵלּוּ.
[If the zav] struck [a blow] on a door, on a door-bolt, on a lock, on an oar, or on a [mill] receptacle; on a weak tree, or on a weak branch [that grows from] a strong tree, on an Egyptian ladder that is not anchored with a nail, on a ramp, on a beam, or on a door that are not secured with plaster, [in all these cases, the loaves that fall] are tamei.  [If the zav] struck [a blow] on a carriage, a chest, or a closet, [the loaves that fall] are tamei. [However,] R’ Nehemiah and R’ Shimon rule these tahor.

זָב שֶׁהָיָה מֻטָּל עַל חֲמִשָּׁה סַפְסָלִים אוֹ עַל חָמֵשׁ פֻּנְדִּיּוֹת, לְאָרְכָּן — טְמֵאִין; לְרָחְבָּן — טְהוֹרִין. יָשַׁן, סָפֵק שֶׁנִּתְהַפֵּךְ עֲלֵיהֶן — טְמֵאִין.  הָיָה מֻטָּל עַל שִׁשָּׁה כִסָּיוֹת, שְׁתֵּי יָדָיו עַל שְׁנַיִם, שְׁתֵּי רַגְלָיו עַל שְׁנַיִם, רֹאשׁוֹ עַל אֶחָד, גּוּפוֹ עַל אֶחָד — אֵין טָמֵא אֶלָּא זֶה שֶׁתַּחַת הַגּוּף.  עוֹמֵד עַל שְׁנֵי כִסְאוֹת, רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אוֹמֵר: אִם רְחוֹקִין זֶה מִזֶּה — טְהוֹרִין.
[In a case of] a zav who was lying upon five benches, or upon five money belts, [if he lies] along their length, they are [all] tamei; [however, if he lies] across their widths, they are [all] tahor. If he slept, [and there is] a doubt that he [may have] turned around on them, they are [all] tamei.  If [the zav] was lying upon six chairs, [with] his two arms [resting] upon two [of them], his two legs [resting] upon two [of them], his head upon one, [and] his body upon one, only this [one] that is be-neath [his] body is tamei.  [If the zav was] standing on two chairs, R’ Shimon says: If they are distant one from the other, they are tahor.
