שְׁנַיִם טְמֵאִים בַּמֵּת — אֶחָד טָמֵא טֻמְאַת שִׁבְעָה, וְאֶחָד טָמֵא טֻמְאַת עָרֶב. שְׁלשָׁה טְמֵאִין בַּמֵּת — שְׁנַיִם טְמֵאִין טֻמְאַת שִׁבְעָה, וְאֶחָד טָמֵא טֻמְאַת עָרֶב. אַרְבָּעָה טְמֵאִין בַּמֵּת — שְׁלשָׁה טְמֵאִין טֻמְאַת שִׁבְעָה, וְאֶחָד טָמֵא טֻמְאַת עָרֶב. כֵּיצַד שְׁנַיִם? אָדָם הַנּוֹגֵעַ בַּמֵּת טָמֵא טֻמְאַת שִׁבְעָה, וְאָדָם הַנּוֹגֵע בּוֹ, טָמֵא טֻמְאַת עָרֶב:
Two can become tamei from a corpse — one becomes tamei for seven days, and one becomes tamei until evening. Three can become tamei from a corpse — two [of them] become tamei for seven days, and one becomes tamei until evening. Four can become tamei from a corpse — three [of them] become tamei for seven days, and one becomes tamei until evening. How [do] two [become tamei]? A person who touches a corpse becomes tamei for seven days, and a person who touches him becomes tamei until evening.

כֵּיצַד שְׁלשָׁה? כֵּלִים הַנּוֹגְעִים בַּמֵּת, וְכֵלִים בַּכֵּלִים, טְמֵאִין טֻמְאַת שִׁבְעָה. הַשְּׁלִישִׁי — בֵּין אָדָם וּבֵין כֵּלִים — טְמֵאִין טֻמְאַת עָרֶב:
How [do] three [become tamei]? Utensils that touch a corpse, and the utensils [that touch] those utensils, [both] become tamei for seven days. The third one [to be touched] — whether it is a person or a utensil — becomes tamei [until] evening.

כֵּיצַד אַרְבָּעָה? כֵּלִים הַנּוֹגְעִין בַּמֵּת, וְאָדָם בַּכֵּלִים, וְכֵלִים בָּאָדָם — טְמֵאִין טֻמְאַת שִׁבְעָה. הָרְבִיעִי, בֵּין אָדָם בֵּין כֵּלִים, טָמֵא טֻמְאַת עָרֶב. אָמַר רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא: יֶשׁ לִי חֲמִישִׁי — הַשְּׁפוּד הַתָּחוּב בָּאֹהֶל. הָאֹהֶל, וְהַשְּׁפוּד, וְאָדָם הַנּוֹגֵעַ בַּשְּׁפוּד, וְכֵלִים בָּאָדָם — טְמֵאִין טֻמְאַת שִׁבְעָה. הַחֲמִישִׁי, בֵּין אָדָם בֵּין כֵּלִים, טָמֵא טֻמְאַת עָרֶב. אָמְרוּ לוֹ: אֵין הָאֹהֶל מִתְחַשֵּׁב:
How [do] four [become tamei]? Utensils that touch a corpse, and a person [who touched] the utensils, and [then other] utensils which touched the person — [all] become tamei for seven days. The fourth [one to be touched], whether it is a person or a utensil, becomes tamei [until] evening. R’ Akiva said: I have [a case where] five [become tamei] — a pole inserted into a tent. The tent, the pole, a person touching the pole, and utensils [touching] the person — [all] become tamei for seven days. The fifth one [to be touched], whether it is a person or a utensil, becomes tamei until evening. They said to him: The tent is not counted.

וֹמֵי הַסָּדִין, וְהַסּוּדָרִין, וְהַטְּרָטִין, וְהַפִּלְיוֹן שֶׁל רֹאשׁ — שֵׁשׁ אֶצְבָּעוֹת. שֶׁל אַפְקַרְסִין — עֶשֶׂר. נִימֵי סָגוֹס, וְהָרְדִיד, וְהֶחָלוּק, וְהַטַּלִּית — שָׁלֹשׁ אֶצְבָּעוֹת. נִימֵי כִּפָּה שֶׁל זְקֵנָה, וְהַגֻּמְדִין שֶׁל עַרְבִיִּין, וְהַקֻּלְקִין, וְהַפֻּנְדָּא, וְהַמַּעֲפֹרֶת, וְהַפַּרְגּוֹד — נִימֵיהֶן כָּל שֶׁהֵן.
The threads of a sheet, [of] a scarf, [of] hats, [and of] a head-shawl, [their measure is] six fingerbreadths. [The threads] of an undergarment, [their measure is] ten [fingerbreadths]. The threads of an overcoat, [of] a veil, [of] a shirt, and [of] a mantle, [their measure is] three fingerbreadths. The fringes of an old-woman’s cap, [of] an Arab face-covering, [of] kulkin, [of] a hollow belt, [of] a turban, and [of] a partition, [their measure is] whatever [the length of] their fringes may be.
Keilim29: 2
שָׁלֹשׁ כְּסָתוֹת שֶׁל צֶמֶר, שֵׁשׁ שֶׁל פִּשְׁתָּן, שְׁלֹשָׁה סְדִינִין, שְׁתֵּים עֶשְׂרֵה מִטְפָּחוֹת, שְׁנֵי סֻבְרִיקִין, חָלוּק אֶחָד, טַלִּית אַחַת, קְלֻבְקָרִין אֶחָד — חִבּוּר לְטֻמְאָה וּלְהַזָּיָה. יָתֵר מִכָּאן — חִבּוּר לְטֻמְאָה וְאֵינוֹ חִבּוּר לְהַזָּיָה. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: אַף לֹא לְטֻמְאָה.
Three mattresses of wool, six of linen, three sheets, twelve kerchiefs, two trousers, one shirt, one mantle, one winter cloak, [are considered] connected with respect to tumah and to sprinkling. [If the quantity] is more than this, [they are viewed as] connected [with respect] to tumah but not [with respect] to sprinkling. R’ Yose says: Not even [with respect] to tumah.
Keilim29: 3
חוּט הַמִּשְׁקֹלֶת — שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר. שֶׁל חָרָשִׁין — שְׁמוֹנָה עָשָׂר. שֶׁל בַּנָּיִין — חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה. יָתֵר מִכָּאן, אִם רָצָה לְקַיֵּם — טָהוֹר. שֶׁל סַיָּדִין וְשֶׁל צַיָּרִין — כָּל שֶׁהֵן.
The cord of a plummet, [its measure] is twelve. [The plummet cord] of carpenters, [its measure is] eighteen. [That] of builders, [its measure is] fifty amos. More than [these lengths], [even] if one desires to retain it, is tahor. [Those] of plasterers and of artists, [their measure is] any length.

חוּט מֹאזְנַיִם שֶׁל זֶהָבִים וְשֶׁל שׁוֹקְלֵי אַרְגָּמָן טוֹב — שָׁלֹשׁ אֶצְבָּעוֹת. יַד הַקַּרְדֹּם מֵאַחֲרָיו — שָׁלֹשׁ אֶצְבָּעוֹת. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: טֶפַח — טָהוֹר.
The cord of a goldsmith’s balance, and [that] of a weigher of good [-quality] purple [wool], [their measure is] three fingerbreadths. The handle of a hatchet from its back, [its measure is] three fingerbreadths. R’ Yose says: [If it is] one handbreadth, [it is] tahor.

חוּט מֹאזְנַיִם שֶׁל חֶנְוָנִים, שֶׁל בַּעֲלֵי בָתִּים — טֶפַח. יַד הַקַּרְדֹּם מִלְּפָנָיו — טֶפַח. שְׁיָרֵי יַד הַפַּרְגוֹל — טֶפַח. יַד מַקֶּבֶת שֶׁל יַד, שֶׁל מְפַתְּחֵי אֲבָנִים — טֶפַח.
The cord of the balance of storeowners [and that] of householders, [its measure is] one handbreadth. The handle of a hatchet in front, [its measure is] one handbreadth. The remnant of a compass handle, [its measure is] one handbreadth. The handle of a chisel used by stone engravers, [its measure is] one handbreadth.
Keilim29: 6
חוּט מֹאזְנַיִם שֶׁל צַמָּרִים וְשֶׁל שׁוֹקְלֵי זְכוּכִית — טְפָחָיִם. יַד הַמַּקּוֹר — טְפָחָיִם. יַד הַמַּעֲצָד שֶׁל לִגְיוֹנוֹת — טְפָחָיִם. יַד הַקֻּרְנָס שֶׁל זֶהָבִים — טְפָחָיִם. שֶׁל חָרָשִׁין — שְׁלשָׁה טְפָחִים.
The cord of a wool dealer’s balance, and [that of] glass weighers, [their measure is] two handbreadths. The handle of a millstone chisel, [its measure is] two handbreadths. The handle of a mace, [its measure is] two handbreadths. The handle of a goldsmith’s hammer, [its measure is] two handbreadths. That of blacksmiths, [its measure is] three handbreadths.
Keilim29: 7
שְׁיָרֵי הַדָּרְבָן מִלְמַעְלָן — אַרְבָּעָה. יַד הַבָּדִיד — אַרְבָּעָה. יַד הַקַּרְדֹּם שֶׁל נִכּוּשׁ — חֲמִשָּׁה. יַד בֶּן הַפַּטִּישׁ — חֲמִשָּׁה, וְשֶׁל הַפַּטִּישׁ — שִׁשָּׁה. יַד הַקַּרְדֹּם שֶׁל בִּקּוּעַ וְשֶׁל עָדִיר — שִׁשָּׁה. וְיַד מַקֶּבֶת שֶׁל סַתָּתִין — שִׁשָּׁה.
The remnants of a prod from above, [its measure is] four [handbreadths]. The handle of a spade, [its measure is] four [handbreadths]. The handle of a mattock for pounding, [its measure is] five [handbreadths]. The handle of a small hammer, [its measure is] five [handbreadths]. And that of a hammer is six [handbreadths]. The handle of an ax for splitting [wood] and for hoeing, [its measure is] six [handbreadths]. And the handle of a stonemason’s chisel, [its measure is] six [handbreadths].
Keilim29: 8
שְׁיָרֵי חַרְחוּר מִלְּמַטָּן — שִׁבְעָה.   יַד מַגְרֵפָה שֶׁל בַּעֲלֵי בָתִּים — בֵּית שַׁמַּאי אוֹמְרִים: שִׁבְעָה; בֵּית הִלֵּל אוֹמְרִים: שְׁמוֹנָה. שֶׁל סַיָּדִין — בֵּית שַׁמַּאי אוֹמְרִים: תִּשְׁעָה; בֵּית הִלֵּל אוֹמְרִים: עֲשָׂרָה. יָתֵר מִכָּאן, אִם רָצָה לְקַיֵּם — טָמֵא. וְיַד מְשַׁמְּשֵׁי הָאוּר — כָּל שֶׁהוּא.
The remnants of the blade from below, [its measure is] seven [handbreadths]. The handle of a householder’s shovel, Beis Shammai say: [Its measure is] seven [handbreadths]. Beis Hillel say: [Its measure is] eight [handbreadths]. [The handle of a shovel] of plasterers, Beis Shammai say: [Its measure is] nine [handbreadths]. Beis Hillel say: [Its measure is] ten [handbreadths]. [If the length of the handle is] more than this, if he wishes to preserve [its length], it is tamei. And the handle of utensils that are used with fire, [their measure is] any [length].
Keilim30: 1
כְּלֵי זְכוּכִית, פְּשׁוּטֵיהֶן — טְהוֹרִין, וּמְקַבְּלֵיהֶן — טְמֵאִים. נִשְׁבְּרוּ — טָהֵרוּ. חָזַר וְעָשָׂה מֵהֶן כֵּלִים — מְקַבְּלִין טֻמְאָה מִכָּאן וּלְהַבָּא. הַטַּבְלָא וְהָאִסְקוּטְלָא שֶׁל זְכוּכִית — טְהוֹרִין. אִם יֶשׁ לָהֶן לִזְבֵּז — טְמֵאִים. שׁוּלֵי קְעָרָה וְשׁוּלֵי אִסְקוּטְלָא שֶׁל זְכוּכִית שֶׁהִתְקִינָן לְתַשְׁמִישׁ — טְהוֹרִין. קִרְטְסָן אוֹ שָׁפָן בַּשּׁוּפִין — טְמֵאִין.
[Regarding] glass utensils, their flatwares are tahor but their hollowares are tamei. [If] they break, they become tahor. [If] one remade [the broken utensils] into [new] utensils, they are susceptible to tumah from then on. A table and an iskutla made of glass are tahor. If they have a rim, they are tamei. [Regarding] the bottom of a plate and the bottom of an iskutla made from glass, which one has designated for use, are tahor. If he smoothed them or shaved them with a file, they are tamei.
Keilim30: 2
אַסְפַּקְלַרְיָא — טְהוֹרָה. וְתַמְחוּי שֶׁעֲשָׂאוֹ אַסְפַּקְלַרְיָא — טָמֵא. וְאִם מִתְּחִלָּה עֲשָׂאוֹ לְשֵׁם אַסְפַּקְלַרְיָא — טָהוֹר. תַּרְוָד שֶׁהוּא נוֹתְנוֹ עַל הַשֻּׁלְחָן, אִם מְקַבֵּל כָּל שֶׁהוּא — טָמֵא, וְאִם לָאו — רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא מְטַמֵּא, רַבִּי יוֹחָנָן בֶּן נוּרִי מְטַהֵר.
A looking glass is tahor. But a [glass] dish that one made into a looking glass is tamei. But if [the dish] was originally made to serve as a looking glass, it is tahor. [Regarding] a spoon that one places on the table, if it can contain any [minute] amount, it is tamei. But if not, R’ Akiva rules [it] tamei. [But] R’ Yochanan ben Nuri rules [it] tahor.
Keilim30: 3
כּוֹס שֶׁנִּפְגַּם רֻבּוֹ — טָהוֹר. נִפְגַּם בּוֹ שָׁלשׁ בְּרֻבּוֹ — טָהוֹר. רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אוֹמֵר: אִם מְפַזֵּר הוּא אֶת רֹב הַמַּיִם — טָהוֹר. נִקַּב, וַעֲשָׂאוֹ בֵּין בְּבַעַץ בֵּין בְּזֶפֶת — טָהוֹר. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: בְּבַעַץ — טָמֵא, וּבְזֶפֶת — טָהוֹר.
A cup, the majority of [whose circumference] chipped away, is tahor. If it became chipped [with] three [chips] around the majority [of its circumference], it is [also] tahor. R’ Shimon says: If [the cup] leaks a majority of its water, it is tahor. If [the cup] developed a hole, and one repaired it whether with tin [or] with pitch, it is tahor. R’ Yose says: [If he plugs it] with tin, it is tamei. But [if] with pitch, it is tahor.
Keilim30: 4
צְלוֹחִית קְטַנָּה שֶׁנִּטַּל פִּיהָ — טְמֵאָה, וּגְדוֹלָה שֶׁנִּטַּל פִּיהָ — טְהוֹרָה. שֶׁל פַּלְיָטוֹן שֶׁנִּטַּל פִּיהָ — טְהוֹרָה, מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהִיא סוֹרַחַת אֶת הַיָד. לְגִינִין גְּדוֹלִים שֶׁנִּטַּל פִּיהֶן — טְמֵאִין, מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהוּא מְתַקְּנָן לִכְבָשִׁין. וְהָאֲפַרְכֵּס שֶׁל זְכוּכִית — טְהוֹרָה. אָמַר רַבִּי יוֹסֵי: אַשְׁרַיִךְ כֵּלִים, שֶׁנִּכְנַסְתְּ בְּטֻמְאָה, וְיָצָאת בְּטָהֳרָה.
A small [glass] bottle whose neck was broken off is tamei. But a large [bottle] whose neck was broken off is tahor. [A bottle] for balsam oil whose neck has broken off is tahor, because it [will] scratch [one’s] hand. Large [glass] jars whose mouths broke off are tamei, because one sets them aside for pickled things. A grinding funnel [made] of glass is tahor. R’ Yose says: Fortunate are you, Keilim! For you have entered in tumah, but have exited in taharah!
