One who steals a service vessel, blasphemes by a supernatural force, or cohabits with a gentile woman, zealots may smite him. [If] a Kohen serves while tamei, his brother Kohanim do not bring him to court; rather the young Kohanim remove him from the courtyard and split his skull with clubs. A non-Kohen who serves in the Temple —- R’ Akiva says: [He is executed] by strangulation. But the Sages say: By the hand of Heaven.

All Israel has a share in the World to Come, as it is stated: And your people are all righteous, they shall inherit the land for-ever; the branch of my plantings, the work of my hands to be glorified.  These are the ones who have no share in the World to Come: One who says there is no [basis for] the resurrection in the Torah, [one who says] that the Torah is not from Heaven, and an apikorus. R’ Akiva says: Also one who reads external books, and one who whispers over a wound and says: “All the diseases which I have placed upon Egypt I shall not place upon you because I am HASHEM your healer”. Abba Shaul says: Also one who utters the Name according to its letters.

Three kings and four commoners have no share in the World to Come. The three kings [are]: Yarovam, Achav, and Menasheh. R’ Yehudah says: Menashe has a share in the World to Come, as it is stated: And he prayed to Him, and He al-lowed Himself to be entreated and heard his plea, and He returned him to Jerusalem to his kingdom. They said to him: He returned him to his kingdom but not to the World to Come. The four commoners [are]: Bilam, Doeg, Achitophel, and Gechazi.

The generation of the Flood has no share in the World to Come, nor will they stand for judgment, as it is stated: My spirit shall not contend evermore concerning man —- neither judgment nor spirit.  The generation of the Dispersal has no share in the World to Come, as it is stated: And HASHEM dispersed them from across the face of the whole earth —- Hashem dispersed them in this world; and from there HASHEM scattered them from the World to Come.  The people of Sodom have no share in the World to Come, as it is stated: Now the people of Sodom were wicked and sinful toward HASHEM ex-ceedingly —- wicked in this world, and sinful in the World to Come. However, they will stand for judgment. R’ Nechemiah says: Neither these nor those will stand for judgment, as it is stated: Therefore the wicked shall not stand for judgment nor the sinful in the congregation of the righteous —- Therefore the wicked shall not stand for judgment: this is the generation of the Flood; nor the sinful in the congregation of the righteous: these are the people of Sodom. They said to him: They shall not stand in the congregation of the righteous but they shall stand in the congregation of the sinful.  The spies have no share in the World to Come, as it is stated: And the men who brought out an evil report about the land died in a plague before HASHEM. They died —- in this world; in a plague —- in the World to Come.  The generation of the wilderness has no share in the World to Come, and they will not stand for judgment, as it is stated: In this wilderness they shall be con-sumed and there they shall die; [these are] the words of R’ Akiva. R’ Eliezer says: Concerning them it is stated: Gather to Me My devout ones; those who sealed a covenant with Me by sacrifice.  The congregation of Korach is not destined to arise, as it is stated: And the land covered them over —- in this world; and they were lost from amidst the congregation —- in the World to Come; [these are] the words of R’ Akiva. R’ Eliezer says: Concerning them it is stated: HASHEM kills and brings to life; he lowers into the grave and brings up.  The Ten Tribes are not destined to return, as it is stated: And he sent them to another land as of this day —- just as this day goes never to return, so they go never to return; [these are] the words of R’ Akiva. R’ Eliezer says: Just as the day darkens and [then] becomes light, so the Ten Tribes, for whom it became dark, shall have a future that becomes light for them.

The people of an apostate town have no share in the World to Come, as it is stated: There went out wicked men from your midst and they led astray the inhabitants of their town.  They are not beheaded unless those that led them astray are from that town and that tribe, unless the majority [of the town] has been led astray, and unless they have been led astray by men. [If] they were led astray by women or children, or [only] a minority was led astray, or if those leading them astray were from outside the town, they are treated as individuals.  They require two witnesses and a warning for each one. This is the stringency of individuals over a multitude: individuals are stoned; therefore their property is spared. The multitude are beheaded; therefore their property is forfeit.
Sanhedrin10: 5
You shall surely smite, etc. —- A donkey train or camel caravan which passes from place to place saves it. Destroy it and all that is in it, etc. —- From here they derived [that] the possessions of the righteous which are in it are forfeit, [while] those which are outside it are saved; those of the wicked, whether within or without, are forfeit.
Sanhedrin10: 6
As it is stated: And all its spoils you shall gather into its plaza, etc. —- If it has no plaza, they make one. [If] its plaza is outside it, they bring it in. And you shall burn the town and its spoils completely to Hashem your God —- its spoils, not the spoils of Heaven. From here they derived [that] the hekdesh objects in it are redeemed, the terumos are [left] to rot, [and the] maaser sheni and Holy Scriptures must be buried. Completely to Hashem your God —- said R’ Shimon: The Holy One, Blessed is He, said: If you will carry out the judgment of an apostate town, it is as if you bring a burnt-offering before Me. And it shall be a mound forever; it may not be rebuilt at all —- it may not even be made into gardens or orchards; [these are] the words of R’ Yose HaGlili. R’ Akiva says: It may never again be rebuilt —- it may not be rebuilt to what it was but it may be made into gardens and orchards. And nothing of the banned matter shall stick to your hand —- For as long as the wicked are in the world, there is anger in the world; [when] the wicked perish from the world, anger disappears from the world.
