Nedarim7: 1
הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַיָּרָק” — מֻתָּר בַּדְּלוּעִין; וְרַבִּי עֲקִיבָא אוֹסֵר. אָמְרוּ לוֹ לְרַבִּי עֲקִיבָא: וַהֲלֹא אוֹמֵר אָדָם לִשְׁלוּחוֹ: ,,קַח לִי יָרָק”, וְהוּא אוֹמֵר: ,,לֹא מָצָאתִי אֶלָּא דְלוּעִין”. אָמַר לָהֶם: כֵּן הַדָּבָר; אוֹ שֶׁמָּא אוֹמֵר הוּא לוֹ: ,,לֹא מָצָאתִי אֶלָּא קִטְנִית”? אֶלָּא שֶׁהַדְּלוּעִין בִּכְלָל ,,יָרָק”, וְקִטְנִית אֵינָן בִּכְלָל ,,יָרָק”. וְאָסוּר בְּפוֹל הַמִּצְרִי לַח, וּמֻתָּר בַּיָּבֵשׁ.
One who makes a neder prohibiting greens is permitted gourds; R' Akiva, however, forbids [them]. They said to R' Akiva: Doesn't a person say to his agent: “Buy me greens,” and he says: “I found only gourds”? He said to them: Indeed, it is so; but does he say to him: “I found only legumes”? [It is] only [because] bitter gourds are included under the category of greens, but legumes are not included under the category of greens. He is forbidden fresh Egyptian beans, but permitted dry [ones].

הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַדָּגָן” — אָסוּר בְּפוֹל הַמִּצְרִי יָבֵשׁ; דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא בַחֲמֵשֶׁת הַמִּינִין. רַבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר: הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַתְּבוּאָה — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא בַחֲמֵשֶׁת הַמִּינִין. אֲבָל הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַדָּגָן” — אָסוּר בַּכֹּל, וּמֻתָּר בְּפֵרוֹת הָאִילָן וּבַיָּרָק.
One who makes a neder prohibiting dagan is forbidden dry Egyptian beans; [these are] the words of R' Meir. The Sages, however, say: He is forbidden only the five varieties. R' Meir says: One who makes a neder prohibiting tevuah is forbidden only the five grains. However, one who makes a neder from dagan is forbidden all, but he is permitted fruit of the tree, and greens.

הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַכְּסוּת” — מֻתָּר בַּשַּׂק, בַּיְרִיעָה, וּבַחֲמִילָה. אָמַר: ,,קוֹנָם צֶמֶר עוֹלֶה עָלַי” — מֻתָּר לְהִתְכַּסּוֹת בְּגִזֵּי צֶמֶר; ,,פִּשְׁתָּן עוֹלֶה עָלַי” — מֻתָּר לְהִתְכַּסּוֹת בַּאֲנִיצֵי פִשְׁתָּן. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: הַכֹּל לְפִי הַנּוֹדֵר. טָעַן וְהֵזִיעַ וְהָיָה רֵיחוֹ קָשֶׁה, אָמַר: ,,קוֹנָם צֶמֶר וּפִשְׁתִּים עוֹלִים עָלַי” — מֻתָּר לְהִתְכַּסּוֹת, וְאָסוּר לְהַפְשִׁיל לַאֲחוֹרָיו.
One who makes a neder prohibiting clothing is permitted sackcloth, sheets of cloth, and heavy fabric. [If] he said: “Konam, wool [from] coming upon me,” he is permitted to clothe himself with wool shearings; “Flax [from] coming upon me,” he is permitted to clothe [himself] with stalks of flax. R' Yehudah says: All depends on the person making the neder. If he was carrying a load, and he perspired and smelled badly, [and] he said: “Konam, wool or flax [from] coming upon me,” he is permitted to clothe [himself with these], but is forbidden to carry bundles [of these] on his back.
Nedarim7: 4
הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַבַּיִת” — מֻתָּר בָּעֲלִיָּה; דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: עֲלִיָּה בִּכְלָל ,,הַבָּיִת”. הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הָעֲלִיָּה” — מֻתָּר בַּבָּיִת.
Someone who makes a neder prohibiting a house is permitted the upper story; [these are] the words of R' Meir. The Sages, however, say: The upper story is included in the [term] house. One who makes a neder prohibiting from the upper floor is permitted the house.
Nedarim7: 5
הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַמִּטָּה” — מֻתָּר בַּדַּרְגָּשׁ; דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: דַּרְגָּשׁ בִּכְלָל ,,מִטָּה”. הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַדַּרְגָּשׁ” — מֻתָּר בַּמִּטָּה. הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הָעִיר” — מֻתָּר לִכָּנֵס לִתְחוּמָהּ שֶׁל עִיר, וְאָסוּר לִכָּנֵס לְעִבּוּרָהּ; אֲבָל הַנּוֹדֵר מִן ,,הַבַּיִת” — אָסוּר מִן הָאֲגַף וְלִפְנִים.
One who makes a neder prohibiting a bed is permitted the footstool; [these are] the words of R' Meir. The Sages, however, say: A footstool is included in the [term] bed. One who makes a neder prohibiting a footstool is permitted the bed. One who makes a neder prohibiting a city is permitted to enter the techum of the city, but is forbidden to enter the extension; but one who makes a neder prohibiting a house is forbidden from the doorframe and inward.

,,קוֹנָם פֵּרוֹת הָאֵלּוּ עָלַי”, ,,קוֹנָם הֵן עַל פִּי”, ,,קוֹנָם הֵן לְפִי” — אָסוּר בְּחִלּוּפֵיהֶן וּבְגִדּוּלֵיהֶן. ,,שֶׁאֵינִי אוֹכֵל” וְ,,שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם” — מֻתָּר בְּחִלּוּפֵיהֶן וּבְגִדּוּלֵיהֶן, בְּדָבָר שֶׁזַּרְעוֹ כָלֶה; אֲבָל בְּדָבָר שֶׁאֵין זַרְעוֹ כָלֶה — אֲפִלּוּ גִדּוּלֵי גִדּוּלִין אֲסוּרִין.
[If a person said:] “Konam, these fruits to me,” “may they be konam for my mouth,” [or] “may they be konam to my mouth,” he is for-bidden whatever is received in exchange for them, and whatever grows from them. “With respect to my eating,” or “with respect to my tasting,” he is permitted whatever is received in exchange for them and whatever grows from them, if it is a thing whose seed decomposes; but for a thing whose seed does not decompose, even what is grown from what was grown is forbidden.

הָאוֹמֵר לְאִשְׁתּוֹ: ,,קוֹנָם מַעֲשֵׂה יָדַיִךְ עָלַי”, ,,קוֹנָם הֵן עַל פִּי”, ,,קוֹנָם הֵן לְפִי” — אָסוּר בְּחִלּוּפֵיהֶן וּבְגִדּוּלֵיהֶן. ,,שֶׁאֵינִי אוֹכֵל”, ,,שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם” — מֻתָּר בְּחִלּוּפֵיהֶן וּבְגִדּוּלֵיהֶן, בְּדָבָר שֶׁזַּרְעוֹ כָלֶה; אֲבָל בְּדָבָר שֶׁאֵין זַרְעוֹ כָלֶה — אֲפִלּוּ גִדּוּלֵי גִדּוּלִין אֲסוּרִים.
One who says to his wife: “Konam, your handiwork to me,” “they are konam for my mouth,” [or] “they are konam to my mouth,” he is forbidden whatever is received in exchange for them and whatever grows from them. “With respect to my eating,” “with respect to my tasting,” he is permitted whatever is received in exchange for them and whatever grows from them, if it is a thing whose seed decomposes; but for a thing whose seed does not decompose, even what is grown from what was grown is forbidden.

,,שֶׁאַתְּ עוֹשָׂה אֵינִי אוֹכֵל עַד הַפֶּסַח”, ,,שֶׁאַתְּ עוֹשָׂה אֵינִי מִתְכַּסֶּה עַד הַפֶּסַח”, עָשְׂתָה לִפְנֵי הַפֶּסַח — מֻתָּר לֶאֱכוֹל וּלְהִתְכַּסּוֹת אַחַר הַפֶּסַח. ,,שֶׁאַתְּ עוֹשָׂה עַד הַפֶּסַח אֵינִי אוֹכֵל”, וְ,,שֶׁאַתְּ עוֹשָׂה עַד הַפֶּסַח אֵינִי מִתְכַּסֶּה”, עָשְׂתָה לִפְנֵי הַפֶּסַח — אָסוּר לֶאֱכוֹל וּלְהִתְכַּסּוֹת אַחַר הַפֶּסַח.
[If a person said:] “What you make I shall not eat until Pesach,” [or] “What you make I shall not wear until Pesach,” [what] she makes before Pesach he is permitted to eat or wear after Pesach. “What you make until Pesach I shall not eat,” [or] “what you make until Pesach I shall not wear,” he is forbidden to eat or wear after Pesach [what] she made before Pesach.
Nedarim7: 9
,,שֶׁאַתְּ נֶהֱנֵית לִי עַד הַפֶּסַח אִם תֵּלְכִי לְבֵית אָבִיךְ עַד הֶחָג”, הָלְכָה לִפְנֵי הַפֶּסַח — אֲסוּרָה בַּהֲנָאֲתוֹ עַד הַפֶּסַח. אַחַר הַפֶּסַח, בְּלֹא יַחֵל דְּבָרוֹ. ,,שֶׁאַתְּ נֶהֱנֵית לִי עַד הֶחָג אִם תֵּלְכִי לְבֵית אָבִיךְ עַד הַפֶּסַח”, וְהָלְכָה לִפְנֵי הַפֶּסַח — אֲסוּרָה בַהֲנָאָתוֹ עַד הֶחָג; וּמֻתֶּרֶת לֵילֵךְ אַחַר הַפֶּסַח.
[If a person said: “Konam] whatever benefit you have from me before Pesach, if you go to your father's house before the Festival” —- if she went before Pesach, she is forbidden to have any benefit from him until Pesach; [if she went] after Pesach, [she is liable for] “he shall not break his word.” [“Konam] whatever benefit you have from me before the Festival, if you go to your father's house before Pesach” —- if she went before Pesach, she is forbidden to benefit from him until the Festival; but she is permitted to go after Pesach.
Nedarim8: 1
,,קוֹנָם יַיִן שֶׁאֲנִי טוֹעֵם הַיּוֹם” — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא עַד שֶׁתֶּחְשַׁךְ; ,,שַׁבָּת זוֹ” — אָסוּר בְּכָל הַשַּׁבָּת, וְשַׁבָּת שֶׁעָבְרָה; ,,חֹדֶשׁ זֶה”, אָסוּר בְּכָל הַחֹדֶשׁ, וְרֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ לְהַבָּא; ,,שָׁנָה זוֹ” — אָסוּר בְּכָל הַשָּׁנָה, וְרֹאשׁ הַשָּׁנָה לֶעָתִיד לָבוֹא; ,,שָׁבוּעַ זֶה” — אָסוּר בְּכָל הַשָּׁבוּעַ, וּשְׁבִיעִית שֶׁעָבְרָה. וְאִם אָמַר: ,,יוֹם אֶחָד”, ,,שַׁבָּת אֶחָת”, ,,חֹדֶשׁ אֶחָד”, ,,שָׁנָה אֶחָת”, ,,שָׁבוּעַ אֶחָד” — אָסוּר מִיוֹם לְיוֹם.
“Konam, wine, with respect to my tasting [it] today” —- it is forbidden to him only until dark; “this week” —- it is forbidden [to him] throughout the week, and [the] Sabbath [is included in the week] preceding [it]; “this month” —- it is forbidden [to him] throughout the month, and Rosh Chodesh is included in the coming [month]; “this year” —- it is forbidden [to him] throughout the year, and Rosh Hashanah [is included in the year] to come; “this Sabbatical cycle” —- [it is] forbidden throughout the Sabbatical cycle, and the Sabbatical year [is included in the cycle] preceding it. But if he said: “One day,” “one week,” “one month,” “one year,” [or] “one Sabbatical cycle” —- [it is] forbidden [to him] from [that] day until [the next] day.
Nedarim8: 2
,,עַד הַפֶּסַח” — אָסוּר עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ; ,,עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא” — אָסוּר עַד שֶׁיֵּצֵא; ,,עַד לִפְנֵי הַפֶּסַח” — רַבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר: אָסוּר עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ; רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: אָסוּר עַד שֶׁיֵּצֵא.
“Until Pesach” —- it is forbidden until [Pesach] arrives; “until it is [Pesach]” —- [it is] forbidden until [Pesach] ends; “until before Pesach” —- R' Meir says: It is forbidden until [Pesach] arrives; R' Yose says: It is forbidden until [Pesach] ends.

,,עַד הַקָּצִיר”, ,,עַד הַבָּצִיר”, ,,עַד הַמָּסִיק” — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ. זֶה הַכְּלָל: כֹּל שֶׁזְּמַנּוֹ קָבוּעַ, וְאָמַר: ,,עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ” — אָסוּר עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ; אָמַר: ,,עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא” — אָסוּר עַד שֶׁיֵּצֵא. וְכֹל שֶׁאֵין זְמַנּוֹ קָבוּעַ, בֵּין אָמַר: ,,עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא”, בֵּין אָמַר: ,,עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ” — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ.
“Until the harvest,” “until the vintage,” “until the olive-picking” —- it is forbidden only until [these times] arrive. This is the rule: Whatever has a set time, and he said: “until it arrives,” it is forbidden until it arrives; [if] he said: “until it is,” it is forbidden until it ends. Whatever has no set time —- whether he said: “until it is,” or whether he said: “until it arrives” —- it is forbidden only until it arrives.

,,עַד הַקַּיִץ”, ,,עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא הַקַּיִץ” — עַד שֶׁיַּתְחִילוּ הָעָם לְהַכְנִיס בַּכַּלְכָּלוֹת; ,,עַד שֶׁיַּעֲבוֹר הַקַּיִץ” — עַד שֶׁיְּקַפְּלוּ הַמַּקְצוּעוֹת; ,,עַד הַקָּצִיר” — עַד שֶׁיַּתְחִילוּ הָעָם לִקְצוֹר קְצִיר חִטִּין, אֲבָל לֹא קְצִיר שְׂעוֹרִים. הַכֹּל לְפִי מְקוֹם נִדְרוֹ, אִם הָיָה בָהָר — בָּהָר, וְאִם הָיָה בַבִּקְעָה — בַּבִּקְעָה.
“Until the fig-picking” [or] “until it is the fig-picking,” [it is forbidden] until the people begin to bring in [the figs] in baskets; “until the fig-picking passes” [it is forbidden] until the mats are folded up; “until the harvest” [it is forbidden] until the people begin to gather in the wheat harvest, not the barley harvest. Everything is according to the place of his neder: if he was in the mountain, [the neder refers to the harvest] in the mountain; if he was in the valley, [it refers to the harvest] in the valley.

,,עַד הַגְּשָׁמִים”, ,,עַד שֶׁיִּהְיוּ הַגְּשָׁמִים” — עַד שֶׁתֵּרֵד רְבִיעָה שְׁנִיָּה. רַבָּן שִׁמְעוֹן בֶּן גַּמְלִיאֵל אוֹמֵר: עַד שֶׁיַּגִּיעַ זְמַנָּהּ שֶׁל רְבִיעָה.
,,עַד שֶׁיִּפְסְקוּ גְּשָׁמִים” — עַד שֶׁיֵּצֵא נִיסָן כֻּלּוֹ; דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: עַד שֶׁיַּעֲבוֹר הַפֶּסַח. ,,קוֹנָם יַיִן שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם הַשָּׁנָה”, נִתְעַבְּרָה הַשָּׁנָה — אָסוּר בָּהּ וּבְעִבּוּרָהּ; ,,עַד רֹאשׁ אֲדָר”, עַד רֹאשׁ אֲדָר הָרִאשׁוֹן; ,,עַד סוֹף אֲדָר” — עַד סוֹף אֲדָר הָרִאשׁוֹן. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: ,,קוֹנָם יַיִן שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא הַפֶּסַח” — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא עַד לֵיל הַפֶּסַח, שֶׁלֹּא נִתְכַּוֵּן זֶה אֶלָּא עַד שָׁעָה שֶׁדֶּרֶךְ בְּנֵי אָדָם לִשְׁתּוֹת יָיִן.
“Until the rains” [or] “until the rains are” [it is forbidden] until the second rain falls. R' Shimon ben Gamliel says: Until the time for [that] rain arrives. “Until the rains stop” —- [it is forbidden] until Nissan is over; [these are] the words of R' Meir. R' Yehudah says: Until Pesach is over. [If one says:] “Konam, wine, with respect to my tasting it this year,” and the year was extended, it is forbidden during it and during its extension; “until the start of Adar” —- [it is forbidden] until the start of the first Adar; “until the end of Adar” —- [it is forbidden] until the end of the first Adar. R' Yehudah says: [If one says:] “Konam, wine, with respect to my tasting [it] until it is Pesach,” it is forbidden only until the night of Pesach, since his intention was only until the time when it is customary for people to drink wine.

אָמַר: ,,קוֹנָם בָּשָׂר שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא הַצּוֹם” — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא עַד לֵילֵי הַצּוֹם, שֶׁלֹּא נִתְכַּוֵּן זֶה אֶלָּא עַד שָׁעָה שֶׁדֶּרֶךְ בְּנֵי אָדָם לֶאֱכוֹל בָּשָׂר. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי בְּנוֹ אוֹמֵר: ,,קוֹנָם שׁוּם שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם עַד שֶׁתְּהֵא שַׁבָּת” — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא עַד לֵילֵי שַׁבָּת, שֶׁלֹּא נִתְכַּוֵּן זֶה אֶלָּא עַד שָׁעָה שֶׁדֶּרֶךְ בְּנֵי אָדָם לֶאֱכוֹל שׁוּם.
[If one] said: “Konam, meat, with respect to my tasting [it] until it is the fast,” it is forbidden only until [before] the night of the fast, since his intention was only until the time when it is customary for people to eat meat. R' Yose, his son, says: [If one says:] “Konam, garlic, with respect to my tasting [it] until it is the Sabbath,” it is forbidden only until the night of the Sabbath, since his intention was only until the time when it is customary for people to eat garlic.

הָאוֹמֵר לַחֲבֵרוֹ: ,,קוֹנָם שֶׁאֲנִי נֶהֱנֶה לָךְ אִם אֵין אַתָּה בָא וְנוֹטֵל לְבָנֶיךָ כּוֹר אֶחָד שֶׁל חִיטִּין וּשְׁתֵּי חָבִיּוֹת שֶׁל יַיִן” — הֲרֵי זֶה יָכוֹל לְהָפֵר אֶת נִדְרוֹ שֶׁלֹּא עַל פִּי חָכָם, וְיֹאמַר לוֹ: ,,כְּלוּם אָמַרְתָּ אֶלָּא מִפְּנֵי כְבוֹדִי? זֶהוּ כְבוֹדִי!” וְכֵן הָאוֹמֵר לַחֲבֵרוֹ: ,,קוֹנָם שֶׁאַתָּה נֶהֱנֶה לִי אִם אֵין אַתָּה בָא וְנוֹתֵן לִבְנִי כּוֹר אֶחָד שֶׁל חִטִּין וּשְׁתֵּי חָבִיּוֹת שֶׁל יַיִן” — רַבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר: אָסוּר עַד שֶׁיִּתֵּן; וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: אַף זֶה יָכוֹל לְהָפֵר אֶת נִדְרוֹ שֶׁלֹּא עַל פִּי חָכָם, וְיֹאמַר לוֹ: ,,הֲרֵי אֲנִי כְּאִלּוּ הִתְקַבַּלְתִּי”. הָיוּ מְסָרְבִין בּוֹ לָשֵׂאת בַּת אֲחוֹתוֹ, וְאָמַר: ,,קוֹנָם שֶׁהִיא נֶהֱנֵית לִי לְעוֹלָם”; וְכֵן הַמְגָרֵשׁ אֶת אִשְׁתּוֹ, וְאָמַר: ,,קוֹנָם אִשְׁתִּי נֶהֱנֵית לִי לְעוֹלָם” — הֲרֵי אֵלּוּ מֻתָּרוֹת לֵהָנוֹת לוֹ, שֶׁלֹּא נִתְכַּוֵּן זֶה אֶלָּא לְשׁוּם אִישׁוּת. הָיָה מְסָרֵב בַּחֲבֵרוֹ שֶׁיֹּאכַל אֶצְלוֹ, אָמַר: ,,קוֹנָם לְבֵיתְךָ שֶׁאֵינִי נִכְנָס”; ,,טִפַּת צוֹנֵן שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם לָךְ” — מֻתָּר לִכָּנֵס לְבֵיתוֹ וְלִשְׁתּוֹת מִמֶּנּוּ צוֹנֵן, שֶׁלֹּא נִתְכַּוֵּן זֶה אֶלָּא לְשׁוּם אֲכִילָה וּשְׁתִיָּה.
[If] someone says to another: “Konam, whatever benefit I might derive from you, unless you come and take for your children one kor of wheat and two barrels of wine,” such a person can annul his neder without recourse to a sage, if he says to him: “Did you say [that] other than for my honor? That is my honor!” Similarly, someone who says to another: “Konam, whatever benefit you might derive from me, unless you come and give my son one kor of wheat and two barrels of wine” —- R' Meir says: It is binding until he gives; the Sages, however, say: This person, too, can annul his neder without recourse to a sage, if he says: “It is as if I have received.'' [If] they were urging him to marry his sister's daughter, and he said: “Konam, whatever benefits she derives from me forever”; likewise, [if] one was divorcing his wife, and said: “Konam, whatever benefit my wife derives from me forever,” they are permitted to have benefit, since his intention was only for marriage. [If] he was urging another to eat with him, [and] he said: “Konam, your house, with respect to my entering [it]”; [or] “a drop of your cold water, with respect to my tasting [it],” he is permitted to enter his house and to drink his cold water, for his intention was only for eating and drinking.
