חֲבוּרָה שֶׁאָבַד פִּסְחָהּ, וְאָמְרָה לְאֶחָד ,,צֵא וּבַקֵּשׁ וּשְׁחֹט עָלֵינוּ”, וְהָלַךְ וּמָצָא וְשָׁחַט, וְהֵם לָקְחוּ וְשָׁחֲטוּ: אִם שֶׁלּוֹ נִשְׁחַט רִאשׁוֹן — הוּא אוֹכֵל מִשֶּׁלּוֹ, וְהֵם אוֹכְלִים עִמּוֹ מִשֶּׁלּוֹ; וְאִם שֶׁלָּהֶן נִשְׁחַט רִאשׁוֹן — הֵם אוֹכְלִין מִשֶּׁלָּהֶן, וְהוּא אוֹכֵל מִשֶּׁלּוֹ; וְאִם אֵינוֹ יָדוּעַ אֵיזֶה מֵהֶן נִשְׁחַט רִאשׁוֹן, אוֹ שֶׁשָּׁחֲטוּ שְׁנֵיהֶן כְּאֶחָד — הוּא אוֹכֵל מִשֶּׁלּוֹ, וְהֵם אֵינָם אוֹכְלִים עִמּוֹ; וְשֶׁלָּהֶן יֵצֵא לְבֵית הַשְּׂרֵפָה, וּפְטוּרִין מִלַּעֲשׂוֹת פֶּסַח שֵׁנִי. אָמַר לָהֶן: ,,אִם אֵחַרְתִּי — צְאוּ וְשַׁחֲטוּ עָלָי”; הָלַךְ וּמָצָא וְשָׁחַט, וְהֵן לָקְחוּ וְשָׁחֲטוּ: אִם שֶׁלָּהֶן נִשְׁחַט רִאשׁוֹן — הֵן אוֹכְלִין מִשֶּׁלָּהֶן, וְהוּא אוֹכֵל עִמָּהֶן; וְאִם שֶׁלּוֹ נִשְׁחַט רִאשׁוֹן — הוּא אוֹכֵל מִשֶּׁלּוֹ, וְהֵן אוֹכְלִין מִשֶּׁלָּהֶן; וְאִם אֵינוֹ יָדוּעַ אֵיזֶה מֵהֶם נִשְׁחַט רִאשׁוֹן, אוֹ שֶׁשָּׁחֲטוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם כְּאֶחָד — הֵן אוֹכְלִין מִשֶּׁלָּהֶן, וְהוּא אֵינוֹ אוֹכֵל עִמָּהֶן; וְשֶׁלּוֹ יֵצֵא לְבֵית הַשְּׂרֵפָה, וּפָטוּר מִלַּעֲשׂוֹת פֶּסַח שֵׁנִי. אָמַר לָהֶן וְאָמְרוּ לוֹ — אוֹכְלִין כֻּלָּם מִן הָרִאשׁוֹן; וְאִם אֵין יָדוּעַ אֵיזֶה מֵהֶן נִשְׁחַט רִאשׁוֹן — שְׁנֵיהֶן יוֹצְאִין לְבֵית הַשְּׂרֵפָה. לֹא אָמַר לָהֶן וְלֹא אָמְרוּ לוֹ — אֵינָן אַחֲרָאִין זֶה לָזֶה.
A group that lost its pesach-offering and said to one, “Go out, seek [it], and slaughter [it] for us”; and he went out, found [it], and slaughtered [it]. Meanwhile they bought and slaughtered [another]. If his was slaughtered first, he eats of his and they eat of his with him; if theirs was slaughtered first, they eat of theirs and he eats of his; but if it is not known which of them was slaughtered first, or if both were slaughtered at the same time, [then] he eats of his but they do not eat with him; and theirs must be burned, but they are exempt from observing the second pesach. [If] he said to them, “If I delay, go and slaughter for me”; [and] he went out, found [it], and slaughtered [it]. Meanwhile they bought and slaughtered [another]. If theirs was slaughtered first, they eat of theirs and he eats with them; if his was slaughtered first, he eats of his and they eat of theirs; but if it is not known which was slaughtered first, or if both were slaugh-tered at the same time, [then] they eat of theirs, but he does not eat with them; and his is burned, but he is exempt from observing the second pesach. [If] he said to them and they said to him, all [of them] eat of the first. But if it is not known which of them was slaughtered first, both are burned. [If] he said nothing to them and they said noth-ing to him, they are not responsible for each other.

שְׁתֵּי חֲבוּרוֹת שֶׁנִּתְעָרְבוּ פִסְחֵיהֶן — אֵלּוּ מוֹשְׁכִין לָהֶן אֶחָד וְאֵלּוּ מוֹשְׁכִין לָהֶן אֶחָד; אֶחָד מֵאֵלּוּ בָּא לוֹ אֵצֶל אֵלּוּ, וְאֶחָד מֵאֵלּוּ בָּא לוֹ אֵצֶל אֵלּוּ, וְכָךְ הֵם אוֹמְרִים: ,,אִם שֶׁלָּנוּ הוּא הַפֶּסַח הַזֶּה — יָדֶיךָ מְשׁוּכוֹת מִשֶּׁלָּךְ וְנִמְנֵיתָ עַל שֶׁלָּנוּ; וְאִם שֶׁלְּךָ הוּא הַפֶּסַח הַזֶּה — יָדֵינוּ מְשׁוּכוֹת מִשֶּׁלָּנוּ וְנִמְנִינוּ עַל שֶׁלָּךְ”. וְכֵן חָמֵשׁ חֲבוּרוֹת שֶׁל חֲמִשָּׁה חֲמִשָּׁה וְשֶׁל עֲשָׂרָה עֲשָׂרָה, מוֹשְׁכִין לָהֶן אֶחָד מִכָּל חֲבוּרָה וַחֲבוּרָה, וְכֵן הֵם אוֹמְרִים.
[If] the pesach-offerings of two groups were confused, these take one for themselves, and the others take one for themselves. [Then] a member of one group comes to the other group, and a member of the other group comes to this group, and they declare the following, “If this pesach is ours, [then] you are withdrawn from your own [pesach] and you are registered on ours. But if this pesach is yours, then we withdraw from ours and we are registered on yours.” Similarly, if there were five groups, each comprising five or ten [members], they take to themselves one person from each group and declare the same.
Pesachim9: 11
שְׁנַיִם שֶׁנִּתְעָרְבוּ פִסְחֵיהֶם — זֶה מוֹשֵׁךְ לוֹ אֶחָד וְזֶה מוֹשֵׁךְ לוֹ אֶחָד; זֶה מַמְנֶה עִמּוֹ אֶחָד מִן הַשּׁוּק, וְזֶה מַמְנֶה עִמּוֹ אֶחָד מִן הַשּׁוּק; זֶה בָא אֵצֶל זֶה וְזֶה בָא אֵצֶל זֶה, וְכָךְ הֵם אוֹמְרִים: ,,אִם שֶׁלִּי הוּא פֶּסַח זֶה — יָדֶיךָ מְשׁוּכוֹת מִשֶּׁלָּךְ וְנִמְנֵיתָ עַל שֶׁלִּי; וְאִם שֶׁלְּךָ הוּא פֶּסַח זֶה — יָדַי מְשׁוּכוֹת מִשֶּׁלִּי וְנִמְנֵיתִי עַל שֶׁלָּךְ”.
Two [individuals] whose pesach-offerings were confused, this one takes one (pesach) for himself, and that one takes one for himself; this one registers some stranger with himself, and that one registers some stranger with himself; this one comes to that [pesach] and that one comes to this [pesach], and they say thus, “If this pesach-offering is mine, [then] you are withdrawn from yours and are registered upon mine; and if that pesach-offering is yours, I am withdrawn from mine and am registered upon yours.”
Pesachim10: 1
עַרְבֵי פְסָחִים סָמוּךְ לַמִּנְחָה לֹא יֹאכַל אָדָם עַד שֶׁתֶּחְשַׁךְ; וַאֲפִלּוּ עָנִי שֶׁבְּיִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא יֹאכַל עַד שֶׁיָּסֵב, וְלֹא יִפְחֲתוּ לוֹ מֵאַרְבָּעָה כוֹסוֹת שֶׁל יַיִן, וַאֲפִלּוּ מִן הַתַּמְחוּי.
On the eve of Passover close to the Minchah [period], a person may not eat until it becomes dark. Even the poorest man in Israel may not eat unless he reclines. And they must give him not less than four cups of wine, even though he is supported from the [charity] plate.
Pesachim10: 2
[ב] מָזְגוּ לוֹ כוֹס רִאשׁוֹן — בֵּית שַׁמַּאי אוֹמְרִים: מְבָרֵךְ עַל הַיּוֹם, וְאַחַר כָּךְ מְבָרֵךְ עַל הַיַּיִן; וּבֵית הִלֵּל אוֹמְרִים: מְבָרֵךְ עַל הַיַּיִן, וְאַחַר כָּךְ מְבָרֵךְ עַל הַיּוֹם.
They pour for him the first cup. Beis Shammai say: He recites the benediction over the day, and then he recites the benediction over the wine. But Beis Hillel say: He recites the benediction over the wine, and then recites the benediction over the day.
Pesachim10: 3
הֵבִיאוּ לְפָנָיו, מְטַבֵּל בַּחֲזֶרֶת, עַד שֶׁמַּגִּיעַ לְפַרְפֶּרֶת הַפַּת. הֵבִיאוּ לְפָנָיו מַצָּה וַחֲזֶרֶת וַחֲרֹסֶת וּשְׁנֵי תַבְשִׁילִין, אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁאֵין חֲרֹסֶת מִצְוָה; רַבִּי אֱלִיעֶזֶר בְּרַבִּי צָדוֹק אוֹמֵר: מִצְוָה. וּבַמִּקְדָּשׁ הָיוּ מְבִיאִים לְפָנָיו גּוּפוֹ שֶׁל פֶּסַח.
[Then] they bring [it] before him; he eats dipped lettuce before he reaches the course that is secondary to the matzah. [Now] they brought before him matzah, lettuce, and charoses, and two cooked dishes; although charoses is not a mitzvah. R' Eliezer bar R' Tzadok says: [The dipping is] a mitzvah. And in the Temple they would bring before him the body of the pesach-[offering].
Pesachim10: 4
מָזְגוּ לוֹ כוֹס שֵׁנִי, וְכָאן הַבֵּן שׁוֹאֵל אָבִיו, וְאִם אֵין דַּעַת בַּבֵּן — אָבִיו מְלַמְּדוֹ: ,,מַה נִּשְׁתַּנָּה הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה מִכָּל הַלֵּילוֹת? שֶׁבְּכָל הַלֵּילוֹת אָנוּ אוֹכְלִין חָמֵץ וּמַצָּה, הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה כֻּלּוֹ מַצָּה. שֶׁבְּכָל הַלֵּילוֹת אָנוּ אוֹכְלִין שְׁאָר יְרָקוֹת, הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה מָרוֹר. שֶׁבְּכָל הַלֵּילוֹת אָנוּ אוֹכְלִין בָּשָׂר צָלִי, שָׁלוּק, וּמְבֻשָּׁל, הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה כֻּלּוֹ צָלִי. שֶׁבְּכָל הַלֵּילוֹת אָנוּ מַטְבִּילִין פַּעַם אַחַת, הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה שְׁתֵּי פְעָמִים”. וּלְפִי דַעְתּוֹ שֶׁל בֵּן אָבִיו מְלַמְּדוֹ. מַתְחִיל בִּגְנוּת וּמְסַיֵּם בְּשֶׁבַח, וְדוֹרֵשׁ מֵ,,אֲרַמִּי אוֹבֵד אָבִי” עַד שֶׁיִּגְמֹר כָּל הַפָּרָשָׁה כֻלָּהּ.
They pour him a second cup [of wine]; and here the son asks of his father And if the son has not [enough] understanding, his father instructs him [to ask]: “Why is this night different from all nights? —- On all nights we eat chametz and matzah, but this night only matzah. On all nights we eat other greens, but on this night bitter herbs. On all nights we eat meat roasted, stewed, or cooked, but on this night only roasted. On all nights we might eat dipped vegetables once, but on this night twice.” And according to the intelligence of the son his father instructs him. He begins with the disgrace and concludes with the glory, and he expounds from: The Aramean sought to disgrace my father (Deut. 26:5) until he ends the whole portion.

רַבָּן גַּמְלִיאֵל הָיָה אוֹמֵר: כָּל שֶׁלֹּא אָמַר שְׁלֹשָׁה דְבָרִים אֵלּוּ בַפֶּסַח, לֹא יָצָא יְדֵי חוֹבָתוֹ, וְאֵלּוּ הֵן: פֶּסַח, מַצָּה, וּמָרוֹר; פֶּסַח — עַל שׁוּם שֶׁפָּסַח הַמָּקוֹם עַל בָּתֵּי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ בְמִצְרָיִם; מַצָּה — עַל שׁוּם שֶׁנִּגְאֲלוּ אֲבוֹתֵינוּ מִמִּצְרָיִם; מָרוֹר — עַל שׁוּם שֶׁמֵּרְרוּ הַמִּצְרִים אֶת חַיֵּי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ בְמִצְרָיִם. בְּכָל דּוֹר וָדוֹר חַיָּב אָדָם לִרְאוֹת אֶת עַצְמוֹ כְּאִלּוּ הוּא יָצָא מִמִּצְרַיִם, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: ,,וְהִגַּדְתָּ לְבִנְךָ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא לֵאמֹר, בַּעֲבוּר זֶה עָשָׂה ה' לִי בְּצֵאתִי מִמִּצְרָיִם”. לְפִיכָךְ אֲנַחְנוּ חַיָּבִין לְהוֹדוֹת, לְהַלֵּל, לְשַׁבֵּחַ, לְפָאֵר, לְרוֹמֵם, לְהַדֵּר, לְבָרֵךְ, לְעַלֵּה, וּלְקַלֵּס לְמִי שֶׁעָשָׂה לַאֲבוֹתֵינוּ וְלָנוּ אֶת כָּל הַנִּסִּים הָאֵלּוּ: הוֹצִיאָנוּ מֵעַבְדוּת לְחֵרוּת, מִיָּגוֹן לְשִׂמְחָה, וּמֵאֵבֶל לְיוֹם טוֹב, וּמֵאֲפֵלָה לְאוֹר גָּדוֹל, וּמִשִּׁעְבּוּד לִגְאֻלָּה — וְנֹאמַר לְפָנָיו ,,הַלְלוּיָהּ!”.
Rabban Gamliel used to say: Whoever has not said these three things on Passover has not fulfilled his obligation, and they are the following: the pesach-[offering], matzah, and maror. [The] pesach-offering [is offered] —- because the Omnipresent One passed over the houses of our ancestors in Egypt. Matzah [is eaten] —- because our ancestors were redeemed in Egypt. Maror [is eaten] —- because the Egyptians embittered the lives of our ancestors in Egypt. In every generation a man must regard himself as if he himself had gone out of Egypt —- for it is said: And you shall tell your son on that day saying, “For the sake of this Hashem did for me when I went out of Egypt” (Exodus 13:8). Therefore we are obliged to give thanks, to praise, to laud, to glorify, to exalt, to honor, to bless, to extol, and to shower acclaim upon Him Who performed all these miracles for our ancestors and for us: He brought us forth from slavery to freedom, from sorrow to joy, from mourning to festivity, from darkness to great light, and from servitude to redemption —- so let us say before Him “Halleluyah!”
Pesachim10: 6
עַד הֵיכָן הוּא אוֹמֵר? בֵּית שַׁמַּאי אוֹמְרִים: עַד ,,אֵם הַבָּנִים שְׂמֵחָה”; וּבֵית הִלֵּל אוֹמְרִים: עַד ,,חַלָּמִישׁ לְמַעְיְנוֹ מָיִם”. וְחוֹתֵם בִּגְאֻלָּה; רַבִּי טַרְפוֹן אוֹמֵר: ,,אֲשֶׁר גְּאָלָנוּ וְגָאַל אֶת אֲבוֹתֵינוּ מִמִּצְרַיִם”, וְלֹא הָיָה חוֹתֵם. רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא אוֹמֵר: ,,כֵּן ה' אֱלֹהֵינוּ וֵאלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ יַגִּיעֵנוּ לְמוֹעֲדִים וְלִרְגָלִים אֲחֵרִים הַבָּאִים לִקְרָאתֵנוּ לְשָׁלוֹם, שְׂמֵחִים בְּבִנְיַן עִירֶךָ וְשָׂשִׂים בַּעֲבוֹדָתֶךָ, וְנֹאכַל שָׁם מִן הַזְּבָחִים וּמִן הַפְּסָחִים” כו', עַד ,,בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה ה', גָּאַל יִשְׂרָאֵל”.
Until where does he recite? —- Beis Shammai say: Until A joyful mother of children (Psalms 113:8). Beis Hillel say: Until The flint into a spring of water (Psalms 114:8). He concludes [the Haggadah] with [a blessing about] redemption. R' Tarfon says: “Who re-deemed us and redeemed our ancestors from Egypt,” and he does not conclude [with a final bles-sing]. R' Akiva says: “. . . so may Hashem our God and the God of our ancestors bring us to future festivals and pilgrimages, which approach us, in peace, gladdened in the rebuilding of Your city and joyful at Your service. May we eat there of the offerings and pesach-sacrifices . . .” until “Blessed are You, Hashem, Who has redeemed Israel.”
Pesachim10: 7
מָזְגוּ לוֹ כוֹס שְׁלִישִׁי, מְבָרֵךְ עַל מְזוֹנוֹ; רְבִיעִי, גּוֹמֵר עָלָיו אֶת הַהַלֵּל, וְאוֹמֵר עָלָיו בִּרְכַּת הַשִּׁיר. בֵּין הַכּוֹסוֹת הַלָּלוּ — אִם רוֹצֶה לִשְׁתּוֹת יִשְׁתֶּה; בֵּין שְׁלִישִׁי לִרְבִיעִי — לֹא יִשְׁתֶּה.
They pour him a third cup, [and] he blesses for his food. A fourth [cup, and] he completes the Hallel over it and recites the “Blessing of the Song” over it. Between these cups, if one wishes to drink, he may drink; between the third and fourth [cups] he may not drink.
Pesachim10: 8
אֵין מַפְטִירִין אַחַר הַפֶּסַח אֲפִיקוֹמָן. יָשְׁנוּ מִקְצָתָן — יֹאכֵלוּ; כֻּלָּן — לֹא יֹאכֵלוּ. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: נִתְנַמְנְמוּ — יֹאכֵלוּ; נִרְדְּמוּ — לֹא יֹאכֵלוּ.
One may not conclude [the feast] after (eating) the pesach with dessert. [If] some fell asleep, they may eat; [if] all, they may not eat. R' Yose says: [If] they dozed, they may eat; [if] they fell into a deep sleep, they may not eat.
Pesachim10: 9
הַפֶּסַח אַחַר חֲצוֹת מְטַמֵּא אֶת הַיָּדָיִם. הַפִּגּוּל וְהַנּוֹתָר מְטַמְּאִין אֶת הַיָּדָיִם. בֵּרַךְ בִּרְכַּת הַפֶּסַח — פָּטַר אֶת שֶׁל זֶבַח; בֵּרַךְ אֶת שֶׁל זֶבַח — לֹא פָטַר אֶת שֶׁל פֶּסַח, דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי יִשְׁמָעֵאל. רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא אוֹמֵר: לֹא זוֹ פוֹטֶרֶת זוֹ, וְלֹא זוֹ פוֹטֶרֶת זוֹ.
The pesach-offering contaminates one's hands after midnight. Piggul and “leftover” [sacrificial meat] contaminate the hands. [If] he recited the blessing for the pesach-offering, he exempts [the blessing] of the [chagigah-] offering; [but if] he recited that of the [chagigah-] offering, he does not exempt that of the pesach-offering —- these are the words of R' Yishmael. R' Akiva says: This one does not exempt that one, nor does that one exempt this one.
