[If] one deposited money with a money changer, [and] it is tied up, he may not use it; therefore, if it is lost, he is not respon-sible for it. [If it is] untied, he may use it; therefore, if it is lost, he is responsible for it. With a householder [however], whether it is tied or untied, he may not use it; therefore, if it is lost, he is not responsible for it.  A storekeeper is like a householder; [these are] the words of R’ Meir. R’ Yehudah says: A storekeeper is like a money changer.
