Three brothers, two of whom were married to two sisters, and [the third] one [was] a bachelor. If one of the sister's husbands died and the bachelor performed maamar with [the widow], and then his second brother died, Beis Shammai say: His wife [may remain] with him, and the other woman is discharged because [she is his] wife's sister. But Beis Hillel say: He must dis-charge his wife with [both] a get and chalitzah, and his [second] brother's wife with chalitzah. Concerning this they stated: “Woe unto him over his wife and woe unto him over his brother's wife.”
