הַגּוֹיִם אֵין לָהֶם נְזִירוּת. נָשִׁים וַעֲבָדִים יֵשׁ לָהֶם נְזִירוּת. חֹמֶר בַּנָּשִׁים מִבָּעֲבָדִים, שֶׁהוּא כוֹפֶה אֶת עַבְדּוֹ וְאֵינוֹ כוֹפֶה אֶת אִשְׁתּוֹ. חֹמֶר בָּעֲבָדִים מִבַּנָּשִׁים, שֶׁהוּא מֵפֵר נִדְרֵי אִשְׁתּוֹ וְאֵינוֹ מֵפֵר נִדְרֵי עַבְדּוֹ. הֵפֵר לְאִשְׁתּוֹ — הֵפֵר עוֹלָמִית. הֵפֵר לְעַבְדּוֹ — יָצָא לְחֵרוּת מַשְׁלִים נְזִירוּתוֹ. עָבַר מִכְּנֶגֶד פָּנָיו — רַבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר: לֹא יִשְׁתֶּה, וְרַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: יִשְׁתֶּה.
Non-Jews do not have nezirus. Women and slaves do have nezirus. There is [an aspect of greater] stringency applying to women than to slaves, for one can force his slave [to violate his nezirus], but he cannot force his wife. There is [an aspect of greater] stringency applying to slaves than to women, for one can revoke his wife’s vows, but he cannot revoke his slave’s vows. [If] he revoked for his wife —- he has revoked permanently; [if] he revoked for his slave —- [if] he went free, he completes his nezirus. [If the slave] passed from his [masteR’s] presence —- R’ Meir says: He may not drink. But R’ Yose says: He may drink.

נָזִיר שֶׁגִּלַּח וְנוֹדַע לוֹ שֶׁהוּא טָמֵא, אִם טֻמְאָה יְדוּעָה — סוֹתֵר. וְאִם טֻמְאַת הַתְּהוֹם — אֵינוֹ סוֹתֵר. אִם עַד שֶׁלֹּא גִלַּח — בֵּין כָּךְ וּבֵין כָּךְ סוֹתֵר. כֵּיצַד? יָרַד לִטְבּוֹל בַּמְּעָרָה וְנִמְצָא מֵת צָף עַל פִּי הַמְּעָרָה — טָמֵא. נִמְצָא מְשֻׁקָּע בְּקַרְקַע הַמְּעָרָה, יָרַד לְהָקֵר — טָהוֹר. לִטַּהֵר מִטֻּמְאַת מֵת — טָמֵא, שֶׁחֶזְקַת טָמֵא — טָמֵא, וְחֶזְקַת טָהוֹר — טָהוֹר, שֶׁרַגְלַיִם לַדָּבָר.
A nazir who shaved, and it [then] became known to him that he was tamei: if [it was due to] a known tumah —- he forfeits; if [it was due to] a tumah of the depths, he does not forfeit. If he had not yet shaved [when it became known to him, then] regardless of which [tumah] it was, he forfeits. How so? [If] he descended into a cave to immerse himself and a corpse was found floating at the mouth of the cave, he is tamei. [If] it was found sunken in the floor of the cave —- if he had gone down to cool himself, he is tahor; to purify himself from tumah of the dead, he is tamei; because someone tamei is presumed to remain tamei, while someone tahor is presumed to remain tahor, for the matter is indicated.
