All equivalent terms [used] in nezirus are like nezirus. One who says: “I will be” —- is a nazir; or, “I will be handsome” —- [is] a nazir. “Nazik,” “naziach,” “paziach” —- he is a nazir.  [One who says:] “I am like this one,” “I am to stroke [my hair],” “I am to let [my hair] grow,” “It is [an obligation] upon me to let [my hair] grow long” —- he is a nazir.  [If he says:] “It is [an obligation] upon me [to offer] birds” —- R’ Meir says: [He is] a nazir. But the Sages say: He is not a nazir.
