אִילָן שֶׁהוּא מֵסֵךְ עַל הָאָרֶץ — אִם אֵין נוֹפוֹ גָבוֹהַּ מִן הָאָרֶץ שְׁלֹשָׁה טְפָחִים, מְטַלְטְלִין תַּחְתָּיו. שָׁרָשָׁיו גְּבוֹהִין מִן הָאָרֶץ שְׁלֹשָׁה טְפָחִים, לֹא יֵשֵׁב עֲלֵיהֶן.
הַדֶּלֶת שֶׁבְּמֻקְצֶה וַחֲדָקִים שֶׁבְּפִרְצָה וּמַחְצָלוֹת — אֵין נוֹעֲלִין בָּהֶן, אֶלָּא אִם כֵּן גְּבוֹהִים מִן הָאָרֶץ.
A tree which droops over the ground — if its branches are not three fists higher than the ground, we may carry beneath it. If its roots are higher than three fists above the ground, one may not sit on them.
The door of a backyard, thorns which are in a breach, and mats — we may not close with them unless they are above the ground.

לֹא יַעֲמֹד אָדָם בִּרְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד וְיִפְתַּח בִּרְשׁוּת הָרַבִּים, בִּרְשׁוּת הָרַבִּים וְיִפְתַּח בִּרְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד, אֶלָּא אִם כֵּן עָשָׂה מְחִיצָה גְבוֹהָה עֲשָׂרָה טְפָחִים — דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר.
אָמְרוּ לוֹ: מַעֲשֶׂה בְשׁוּק שֶׁל פַּטָּמִין שֶׁהָיָה בִירוּשָׁלַיִם, שֶׁהָיוּ נוֹעֲלִין וּמְנִיחִין אֶת הַמַּפְתֵּחַ בְּחַלּוֹן שֶׁעַל גַּבֵּי הַפֶּתַח.
רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: שׁוּק שֶׁל צַמָּרִים הָיָה.
A person may not stand in a private domain while unlocking in a public domain, [or] in a public domain while unlocking in a private domain, unless he makes a partition ten fists high — [these are] the words of R’ Meir.
They said to him: It happened that in the butchers’ market in Jerusalem they would lock and place the key in a window above the door.
R’ Yose says: It was the wool merchants’ market.
