אָמַר: ,,קוֹנָם בָּשָׂר שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם עַד שֶׁיְּהֵא הַצּוֹם” — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא עַד לֵילֵי הַצּוֹם, שֶׁלֹּא נִתְכַּוֵּן זֶה אֶלָּא עַד שָׁעָה שֶׁדֶּרֶךְ בְּנֵי אָדָם לֶאֱכוֹל בָּשָׂר. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי בְּנוֹ אוֹמֵר: ,,קוֹנָם שׁוּם שֶׁאֵינִי טוֹעֵם עַד שֶׁתְּהֵא שַׁבָּת” — אֵינוֹ אָסוּר אֶלָּא עַד לֵילֵי שַׁבָּת, שֶׁלֹּא נִתְכַּוֵּן זֶה אֶלָּא עַד שָׁעָה שֶׁדֶּרֶךְ בְּנֵי אָדָם לֶאֱכוֹל שׁוּם.
[If one] said: “Konam, meat, with respect to my tasting [it] until it is the fast,” it is forbidden only until [before] the night of the fast, since his intention was only until the time when it is customary for people to eat meat. R' Yose, his son, says: [If one says:] “Konam, garlic, with respect to my tasting [it] until it is the Sabbath,” it is forbidden only until the night of the Sabbath, since his intention was only until the time when it is customary for people to eat garlic.
