מִי שֶׁהָיוּ לוֹ מָעוֹת בִּירוּשָׁלַיִם וְצָרִיךְ (לו) [לָהֶם], וְלַחֲבֵרוֹ פֵרוֹת, אוֹמֵר לַחֲבֵרוֹ: ,,הֲרֵי הַמָּעוֹת הָאֵלּוּ מְחֻלָּלִין עַל פֵּרוֹתֶיךָ”. נִמְצָא זֶה אוֹכֵל פֵּרוֹתָיו בְּטָהֳרָה, וְהַלָּה עוֹשֶׂה צָרְכּוֹ בִּמְעוֹתָיו. וְלֹא יֹאמַר כֵּן לְעַם הָאָרֶץ, אֶלָּא בִדְמַאי.
[If] someone had coins in Jerusalem and he needs them, and his friend has produce, he says to his friend: “These coins are hereby deconsecrated upon your produce.” It thus comes about that one eats his produce in taharah, while the other one makes use of his coins. But one should not say this to an am haaretz, except with demai.
