[If] someone buys from a baker, how does he tithe [what he has bought]? He takes [a quantity] sufficient for terumas maaser and challah and says ‘‘One hundredth of what is here [in the entire loaf], let it be maaser [rishon] on this side, and the rest of the maaser [rishon] is next to it. This [hundredth] that I have made maaser [rishon] is made into te-rumas maaser for it, and the rest is challah; the maaser sheni is in its northern or south-ern [side], and it is deconsecrated on the coins.’’
