תְּבוּאָה נוֹטָה עַל גַּבֵּי תְבוּאָה, וְיָרָק עַל גַּבֵּי יָרָק, תְּבוּאָה עַל גַּבֵּי יָרָק, יָרָק עַל גַּבֵּי תְבוּאָה — הַכֹּל מֻתָּר חוּץ מִדְּלַעַת יְוָנִית. רַבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר: אַף הַקִּשּׁוּת וּפוֹל הַמִּצְרִי. וְרוֹאֶה אֲנִי אֶת דִּבְרֵיהֶן מִדְּבָרַי.

Grain leaning over grain, greens [leaning] over greens, grain [leaning] over greens, [and] greens [leaning] over grain — all is permitted except for Greek gourd. R’ Meir says: Also chatemelon and Egyptian bean. But I see their opinion better than mine.

Kilaim3: 1

עֲרוּגָה שֶׁהִיא שִׁשָּׁה טְפָחִים עַל שִׁשָּׁה טְפָחִים, זוֹרְעִים בְּתוֹכָהּ חֲמִשָּׁה זֵרְעוֹנִים, אַרְבָּעָה בְּאַרְבַּע רוּחוֹת הָעֲרוּגָה וְאֶחָד בְּאֶמְצָע. הָיָה לָהּ גְּבוּל גָּבֹהַּ טֶפַח, זוֹרְעִין בְּתוֹכָהּ שְׁלֹשָׁה עָשָׂר, שְׁלֹשָׁה עַל כָּל גְּבוּל וּגְבוּל וְאֶחָד בְּאֶמְצַע. לֹא יִטַּע רֹאשׁ הַלֶּפֶת בְּתוֹךְ הַגְּבוּל, מִפְּנֵי שֶׁהוּא מְמַלְּאֵהוּ. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: שִׁשָּׁה בָאֶמְצַע.

If a patch is six handbreadths by six handbreadths, one may plant within it five varieties, four on the four sides of the patch and one in the middle. [If] it has a border a handbreadth high, one may plant in it thirteen [varieties], three on each border and one in the middle. It is not permitted to plant a head of turnip inside the border, since it fills it up. R’ Yehudah says: Six in the middle.
