רַבִּי אֱלִיעֶזֶר אוֹמֵר: תּוֹלִין אֶת הַמְשַׁמֶּרֶת בְּיוֹם טוֹב, וְנוֹתְנִין לִתְלוּיָה בַשַּׁבָּת. וַחֲכָמִים אוֹמְרִים: אֵין תּוֹלִין אֶת הַמְשַׁמֶּרֶת בְּיוֹם טוֹב, וְאֵין נוֹתְנִין לִתְלוּיָה בַשַּׁבָּת, אֲבָל נוֹתְנִין לִתְלוּיָה בְיוֹם טוֹב.
R’ Eliezer says: We may suspend a strainer on Yom Tov, and we may pour into a suspended one on the Sabbath. But the Sages say: We may not suspend a strainer on Yom Tov, nor may we pour into a suspended one on the Sabbath, but we may pour into a suspended one on Yom Tov.
