רָאָה אַחַת הַיּוֹם וְאַחַת בֵּין הַשְּׁמָשׁוֹת, אַחַת בֵּין הַשְּׁמָשׁוֹת וְאַחַת לְמָחָר, אִם יָדוּעַ שֶׁמִּקְצָת הָרְאִיָּה מֵהַיּוֹם וּמִקְצָתָהּ לְמָחָר — וַדַּאי לַקָּרְבָּן וְלַטֻּמְאָה. אִם סָפֵק שֶׁמִּקְצָת הָרְאִיָּה מֵהַיּוֹם וּמִקְצָתָהּ לְמָחָר — וַדַּאי לַטֻּמְאָה וְסָפֵק לַקָּרְבָּן. רָאָה שְׁנֵי יָמִים בֵּין הַשְּׁמָשׁוֹת — סָפֵק לַטֻּמְאָה וְלַקָּרְבָּן. אַחַת בֵּין הַשְּׁמָשׁוֹת — סָפֵק לַטֻּמְאָה.
[If one] had one [zov emission] by day and one during the [following] twilight period, [or] one [zov emission] during twilight and one the next day, if it is known that part of the emission is from the [first] day and part from the next day, [his status is] certain with respect to [both] the offering and tumah. [But] if it is uncertain whether part of the emission is from the [first] day and part of it from the next day, [his status is] certain with respect to tumah but uncertain with respect to the offering. [If] he had [a zov emission] on two [consecutive] days during twilight, [his status is] uncertain [both] with respect to tumah and with respect to the offering. [If he had] one [zov emission] during twilight, his [status is] uncertain with respect to tumah.

הַכֹּל מִטַּמְּאִין בְּזִיבָה, אַף הַגֵּרִים, אַף הָעֲבָדִים, בֵּין מְשֻׁחְרָרִין בֵּין שֶׁאֵינָן מְשֻׁחְרָרִין, חֵרֵשׁ, שׁוֹטֶה, וְקָטָן, סְרִיס אָדָם, סְרִיס חַמָּה. טֻמְטוּם וְאַנְדְּרוֹגִינוֹס — נוֹתְנִין עֲלֵיהֶן חֻמְרֵי הָאִישׁ וְחֻמְרֵי הָאִשָּׁה: מִטַּמְּאִין בְּדָם כְּאִשָּׁה, וּבְלֹבֶן כָּאִישׁ, וְטֻמְאָתָן בְּסָפֵק.
All can become tamei through [the emission of] zov, even converts, [and] even slaves, whether emancipated [slaves] or un-emancipated [slaves], a deaf person, a deranged person, a minor, a castrated person, [and] a naturally sterile person. [Regarding] a tumtum and an androgyne, we assign to them the stringencies of males and the stringencies of females: they become tamei through [a discharge of] blood like a female, and through a white [emission] like a male, and their tumah [status] is [one of] uncertainty.

בְּשִׁבְעָה דְּרָכִים בּוֹדְקִין אֶת הַזָּב עַד שֶׁלֹּא נִזְקַק לְזִיבָה: בְּמַאֲכָל, בְּמִשְׁתֶּה, וּבְמַשָּׂא, בִּקְפִיצָה, בְּחֹלִי, וּבְמַרְאֶה, וּבְהִרְהוּר. הִרְהֵר עַד שֶׁלֹּא רָאָה אוֹ שֶׁרָאָה עַד שֶׁלֹּא הִרְהֵר. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: אֲפִלּוּ רָאָה בְּהֵמָה חַיָּה וָעוֹף מִתְעַסְּקִין זֶה עִם זֶה, אֲפִלּוּ רָאָה בִּגְדֵי צֶבַע הָאִשָּׁה. רַבִּי עֲקִיבָא אוֹמֵר: אֲפִלּוּ אָכַל כָּל מַאֲכָל, בֵּין רָע בֵּין יָפֶה, וְשָׁתָה כָּל מַשְׁקֶה. אָמְרוּ לוֹ: אֵין כָּאן זָבִין מֵעַתָּה. אָמַר לָהֶם: אֵין אַחֲרָיוּת זָבִים עֲלֵיכֶם. מִשֶּׁנִּזְקַק לְזִיבָה — אֵין בּוֹדְקִין אוֹתוֹ. אָנְסוֹ וּסְפֵקוֹ וְשִׁכְבַת זַרְעוֹ טְמֵאִים, שֶׁרַגְלַיִם לַדָּבָר. רָאָה רְאִיָּה רִאשׁוֹנָה — בּוֹדְקִין אוֹתוֹ. בַּשְּׁנִיָּה — בּוֹדְקִין אוֹתוֹ. בַּשְּׁלִישִׁית — אֵין בּוֹדְקִין אוֹתוֹ. רַבִּי אֱלִיעֶזֶר אוֹמֵר: אַף בַּשְּׁלִישִׁית בּוֹדְקִין אוֹתוֹ, מִפְּנֵי הַקָּרְבָּן.
We examine a zav in seven ways before he is confirmed [tamei] as a zav: for food, for drink, for carrying a load, for jumping, for illness, for sight, and for thought. [Regardless of whether] he thought before he saw, or he saw before he thought. R’ Yehudah says: Even if he saw [a pair of] domesticated animals, wild animals, or fowl engaged [in relations] with each other, [and] even if he saw a woman’s colorful garments. R’ Akiva says: Even if he ate any food, whether bad or good, or drank any drink. They said to [R’ Akiva]: “[If so,] there will never be zavim from now on.” [R’ Akiva] said to them: “You are not responsible for zavim.” Once he is confirmed as a zav, we do not examine him. [A confirmed zav’s] mishap and his doubt and his semen are tamei, because the matter has legs [to stand on]. [After] he had one emission, we examine him. After the second [emission], we examine him. [But] after the third [emission], we do not examine him. R’ Eliezer says: Even after the third [emission] we examine him, on account of the offering.

הָרוֹאֶה קֶרִי אֵינוֹ מִטַּמֵּא בְּזִיבָה מֵעֵת לְעֵת. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: יוֹמוֹ. גּוֹי שֶׁרָאָה קֶרִי וְנִתְגַּיֵר — מִיָּד הוּא מִטַּמֵּא בְּזִיבָה. הָרוֹאָה דָּם, וְהַמְקַשָּׁה — מֵעֵת לְעֵת. וְהַמַּכֶּה אֶת עַבְדּוֹ «יוֹם יוֹמַיִם» — מֵעֵת לְעֵת. כֶּלֶב שֶׁאָכַל בְּשַׂר הַמֵּת — שְׁלֹשָׁה יָמִים מֵעֵת לְעֵת הֲרֵי הוּא כִּבְרִיָּתוֹ.
Someone who has a seminal emission does not become tamei through a zov emission for [the following] twenty-four hours. R’ Yose says: [Only] that day. [Regarding] a non-Jew who had a seminal emission and then converted, he can immedi-ately become tamei through a zov [emission]. [Regarding a woman] who has [a discharge of] blood, and [a woman] who has a difficult [labor], a twenty-four-hour period. And [regarding] the “day [or] two days” [for] someone who strikes his slave, [it is] a twenty-four-hour period. [Regarding] a dog which ate flesh of a corpse, for three twenty-four-hour periods [the flesh] is in its natural state.
