[If the nega] appears on the warp that is ready [for weaving], the woven part is tahor. [If] it appears on the woven part, the warp that is ready [for weaving] is tahor. [If] it appears on a sheet, the fringes must be burnt. [If] it appears on the fringes, the sheet is tahor. A nega on a shirt does not make its trim tamei, even if they are red wool.

Anything susceptible to become tamei from a corpse, even if it is not susceptible to tumah of midras, becomes tamei from negaim — such as the sail of a ship, a curtain, the decorative part of a hairnet, covers of scrolls, and a string-belt or straps of a shoe or a sandal that are wide as a gris — all these can become tamei from negaim. A sagos on which a nega appeared, R’ Eliezer ben Yaakov says: [It is tamei] only when [the nega] appears on both the woven material and the tuft. A flask and a sack are examined as they usually are. [A nega] can spread from inside out or from outside in.

[If] a confined garment became mixed up with others, they are all tahor. [If a confined garment] was [partially] shredded, it is tahor, and one is permitted to benefit from it. [If] a confirmed [garment] became mixed up with others, they are all tamei. [If a confirmed tamei garment] was [partially] shredded, it is tamei and one is prohibited to benefit from it.

All houses become tamei from negaim except those of gentiles. Houses acquired from a gentile should be examined initially. A round house, a triangular house, a house built on a ship, or on a mast, [or] on four [horizontal] beams do not become tamei from negaim. But if it was four-sided, even if it is on four [vertical] pillars, it becomes tamei.
