אֲרֻבּוֹת זוֹ עַל גַּב זוֹ, וְיֵשׁ בָּהֶן פּוֹתֵחַ טֶפַח: טֻמְאָה בַּבַּיִת — כְּנֶגֶד אֲרֻבּוֹת טָהוֹר; טֻמְאָה כְּנֶגֶד אֲרֻבּוֹת — הַבַּיִת טָהוֹר.
הַטֻּמְאָה בֵּין בַּבַּיִת בֵּין כְּנֶגֶד אֲרֻבּוֹת: נָתַן דָּבָר שֶׁהוּא מְקַבֵּל טֻמְאָה, בֵּין מִלְמַעְלָן בֵּין מִלְּמַטָּן — הַכֹּל טָמֵא.
וְדָבָר שֶׁאֵינוֹ מְקַבֵּל טֻמְאָה, מִמֶּנּוּ וּלְמַטָּן — טָמֵא; מִמֶּנּוּ וּלְמַעְלָן — טָהוֹר.
[If] there are [two] skylights, one above the other, each the size of a square hand-breadth, [and] tumah is in the house, whatever is directly opposite the skylights re-mains tahor. [If] the tumah is directly opposite the skylights, the house remains tahor.
[If] the tumah is either in the house or directly opposite the skylights, and an item susceptible to tumah is placed over either the upper or the lower skylight, eve-rything becomes tamei.
[If] an item not susceptible to tumah [is placed over the skylight], whatever is below the item becomes tamei; and whatever is above it remains tahor.

אֵין בָּאֲרֻבּוֹת פּוֹתֵחַ טֶפַח: טֻמְאָה בַּבַּיִת — כְּנֶגֶד אֲרֻבּוֹת טָהוֹר; טֻמְאָה כְּנֶגֶד אֲרֻבּוֹת — הַבַּיִת טָהוֹר.
הַטֻּמְאָה בַּבַּיִת: נָתַן בֵּין דָּבָר שֶׁהוּא מְקַבֵּל טֻמְאָה בֵּין דָּבָר שֶׁאֵינוֹ מְקַבֵּל טֻמְאָה, בֵּין מִלְמַעְלָן בֵּין מִלְּמַטָּן — אֵין טָמֵא אֶלָּא הַתַּחְתּוֹן.
הַטֻּמְאָה כְּנֶגֶד אֲרֻבּוֹת: נָתַן דָּבָר שֶׁהוּא מְקַבֵּל טֻמְאָה, בֵּין מִלְמַעְלָן בֵּין מִלְּמַטָּן — הַכֹּל טָמֵא.
וְדָבָר שֶׁאֵינוֹ מְקַבֵּל טֻמְאָה, בֵּין מִלְמַעְלָן בֵּין מִלְּמַטָּן — אֵין טָמֵא אֶלָּא תַחְתּוֹן.
[If] the skylights are smaller than a handbreadth and tumah is in the house, whatev-er is directly opposite the skylights remains tahor. [If] the tumah is directly opposite the skylights, the house remains tahor.
[If] tumah is in the house and an item, either susceptible to tumah or not, is placed over either the upper or the lower [skylight], only the lower story becomes tamei.
[If] the tumah is directly opposite the skylights and an item susceptible to tu-mah is placed over either the upper or the lower [skylight], everything becomes tamei.
[If] an item not susceptible to tumah is placed over either the upper or the lower [skylight], only the lower story becomes tamei.

אֲרֻבָּה שֶׁהִיא בְתוֹךְ הַבַּיִת, וּקְדֵרָה נְתוּנָה תַחְתֶּיהָ, שֶׁאִם תַּעֲלֶה אֵין שִׂפְתוֹתֶיהָ נוֹגְעוֹת בָּאֲרֻבָּה: טֻמְאָה תַחְתֶּיהָ, בְּתוֹכָהּ אוֹ עַל גַּבָּהּ — טֻמְאָה בוֹקַעַת וְעוֹלָה, בּוֹקַעַת וְיוֹרֶדֶת.
הָיְתָה גָבוֹהַּ מִן הָאָרֶץ טֶפַח: טֻמְאָה תַחְתֶּיהָ, אוֹ בַבַּיִת — תַּחְתֶּיהָ וְהַבַּיִת טָמֵא, תּוֹכָהּ וְגַבָּהּ טָהוֹר; בְּתוֹכָהּ אוֹ עַל גַּבָּהּ — הַכֹּל טָמֵא.
[If] there is a skylight in [the roof of] a house, and a pot is placed beneath [the sky-light] so that if [the pot] were raised its edges would not touch the [roof surrounding the] skylight, and there is tumah below, inside, or above [the pot], the tumah pene-trates upward and downward.
[If the pot] is one handbreadth above the ground and there is tumah below it or inside the house, [the area] below [the pot] and [the] inside [of] the house be-come tamei, but whatever is inside or above [the pot] remains tahor. [If the tumah] is inside or above [the pot], everything becomes tamei.

הָיְתָה נְתוּנָה בְצַד הָאִסְקֻפָּה, שֶׁאִם תַּעֲלֶה הִיא נוֹגַעַת בַּמַּשְׁקוֹף פּוֹתֵחַ טֶפַח: טֻמְאָה תַחְתֶּיהָ, בְּתוֹכָהּ אוֹ עַל גַּבָּהּ — טֻמְאָה בוֹקַעַת וְעוֹלָה, בּוֹקַעַת וְיוֹרֶדֶת.
הָיְתָה גָבוֹהַּ מִן הָאָרֶץ טֶפַח: טֻמְאָה תַחְתֶּיהָ אוֹ בַבַּיִת — תַּחְתֶּיהָ וְהַבַּיִת טָמֵא, תּוֹכָהּ וְגַבָּהּ טָהוֹר; בְּתוֹכָהּ אוֹ עַל גַּבָּהּ — הַכֹּל טָמֵא.
שֶׁאִם תַּעֲלֶה אֵינָהּ נוֹגַעַת בַּשְּׁקוֹף פּוֹתֵחַ טֶפַח, אוֹ מֻדְבֶּקֶת בַּשְּׁקוֹף: טֻמְאָה תַחְתֶּיהָ — אֵין טָמֵא אֶלָּא תַחְתֶּיהָ.
[If a pot] was placed on a threshold in such a way that if raised it would extend over the outer handbreadth of the lintel, and there is tumah below, inside, or above [the pot], the tumah penetrates upward and downward.
[If the pot] is one handbreadth above the ground and there is tumah below it or inside the house, [the area] below [the pot] and [the] inside [of] the house be-come tamei, but whatever is inside or above [the pot] remains tahor. [If the tumah] is inside or above [the pot], everything becomes tamei.
[If the pot was placed on the threshold so that] if it were raised it would not touch an outer handbreadth of the lintel, or it is touching the side of the lintel, and there is tumah underneath [the pot], only what is below the pot becomes tamei.
