Bava Kama8: 7
אַף עַל פִּי שֶׁהוּא נוֹתֵן לוֹ, אֵין נִמְחָל לוֹ עַד שֶׁיְּבַקֵּשׁ מִמֶּנּוּ, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: ”וְעַתָּה הָשֵׁב אֵשֶׁת וְגוֹ' ”.  וּמִנַּיִן שֶׁלֹּא יְהֵא הַמּוֹחֵל אַכְזָרִי? שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר: ”וַיִּתְפַּלֵּל אַבְרָהָם אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִים וַיִּרְפָּא אֱלֹהִים אֶת־אֲבִימֶלֶךְ וְגוֹ' ”.  הָאוֹמֵר: ”סַמֵּא אֶת עֵינִי”, ”קְטַע אֶת יָדִי”, ”שַׁבֵּר אֶת רַגְלִי”, חַיָּב. עַל מְנָת לִפְטֹר? — חַיָּב. ”קְרַע אֶת כְּסוּתִי, שְׁבֹר אֶת כַּדִּי” — חַיָּב. ”עַל מְנָת לִפְטֹר?” — פָּטוּר. ”עֲשֵׂה כֵן לְאִישׁ פְּלוֹנִי עַל מְנָת לִפְטֹר” — חַיָּב, בֵּין בְּגוּפוֹ בֵּין בְּמָמוֹנוֹ.
Although he pays him, he is not forgiven for it until he seeks [forgiveness] from him, as it is said (Genesis 20:7): But now, return the wife ...  Now, from where do we know that the one who forgives should not be cruel? It is said (ibid., v. 17): And Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech ...  [If] one says: “Blind my eye,” “Cut off my hand,” [or] “Break my leg,” he is liable. “On condition to be exempt?” —- he is liable. “Tear my clothes,” [or] “Break my jug” —- he is liable. “On condi-tion to be exempt?” —- he is exempt. “Do this to So-and-so on condition that you be exempt” —- he is liable, whether it is against his body or against his property.
Bava Kama9: 1
הַגּוֹזֵל עֵצִים וַעֲשָׂאָן כֵּלִים; צֶמֶר, וַעֲשָׂאָן בְּגָדִים — מְשַׁלֵּם כִּשְׁעַת הַגְּזֵלָה.  גָּזַל פָּרָה מְעֻבֶּרֶת, וְיָלְדָה; רָחֵל טְעוּנָה, וּגְזָזָהּ — מְשַׁלֵּם דְּמֵי פָרָה הָעוֹמֶדֶת לֵילֵד, דְּמֵי רָחֵל הָעוֹמֶדֶת לִגָּזֵז.  גָּזַל פָּרָה, וְנִתְעַבְּרָה אֶצְלוֹ, וְיָלְדָה; רָחֵל, וְנִטְעֲנָה אֶצְלוֹ, וּגְזָזָהּ — מְשַׁלֵּם כִּשְׁעַת הַגְּזֵלָה.  זֶה הַכְּלָל: כָּל הַגַּזְלָנִים מְשַׁלְּמִין כִּשְׁעַת הַגְּזֵלָה.
[If] one steals wood and makes it into utensils; [or] wool, and makes it into garments —- he pays as of the time of the robbery.  [If] one steals a pregnant cow, and it calves; [or] a ewe bearing wool, and he shears it —- he pays the value of the cow ready to calve [or] the value of a ewe ready to be shorn.  [If] one steals a cow, and it becomes impregnated while with him, and it calves; [or] a ewe, and it becomes laden with wool while with him, and he shears it —- he pays as of the time of the robbery.  This is the general rule: All robbers pay as of the time of the robbery.
Bava Kama9: 2
גָּזַל בְּהֵמָה, וְהִזְקִינָה; עֲבָדִים, וְהִזְקִינוּ — מְשַׁלֵּם כִּשְׁעַת הַגְּזֵלָה. רַבִּי מֵאִיר אוֹמֵר: בַּעֲבָדִים אוֹמֵר לוֹ: ”הֲרֵי שֶׁלְּךָ לְפָנֶיךָ”.  גָּזַל מַטְבֵּעַ, וְנִסְדַּק; פֵּרוֹת, וְהִרְקִיבוּ; יַיִן, וְהֶחֱמִיץ — מְשַׁלֵּם כִּשְׁעַת הַגְּזֵלָה.  מַטְבֵּעַ, וְנִפְסַל; תְּרוּמָה, וְנִטְמֵאת; חָמֵץ, וְעָבַר עָלָיו הַפֶּסַח; בְּהֵמָה, וְנֶעֶבְדָה בָהּ עֲבֵרָה, אוֹ שֶׁנִּפְסְלָה מֵעַל גַּבֵּי הַמִּזְבֵּחַ, אוֹ שֶׁהָיְתָה יוֹצֵאת לִסָּקֵל — אוֹמֵר לוֹ: ”הֲרֵי שֶׁלְּךָ לְפָנֶיךָ”.
[If] one steals an animal, and it ages; [or] slaves, and they age —- he pays as of the time of the robbery. R' Meir says: In the case of slaves he may say to him: “Here is your property before you.”  [If] he steals a coin, and it cracks; fruit, and it rots; [or] wine, and it sours —- he pays as of the time of the robbery.  [If he steals] a coin, and it becomes disqualified; terumah, and it becomes ritually contaminated; chametz, and it is in his possession on Pesach; [or] an animal, and it is used for transgression, or becomes disqualified for the Altar, or is condemned to be stoned —- he may say to him: “Here is your property before you.''
Bava Kama9: 3
נָתַן לְאֻמָּנִין לְתַקֵּן, וְקִלְקְלוּ, חַיָּבִין לְשַׁלֵּם. נָתַן לְחָרָשׁ שִׁדָּה, תֵּבָה, וּמִגְדָּל לְתַקֵּן, וְקִלְקֵל, חַיָּב לְשַׁלֵּם.  וְהַבַּנַּאי שֶׁקִּבֵּל עָלָיו לִסְתֹּר אֶת הַכֹּתֶל, וְשִׁבַּר אֶת הָאֲבָנִים אוֹ שֶׁהִזִּיק, חַיָּב לְשַׁלֵּם. הָיָה סוֹתֵר מִצַּד זֶה וְנָפַל מִצַּד אַחֵר, פָּטוּר; וְאִם מֵחֲמַת הַמַּכָּה, חַיָּב.
[If] one gives craftsmen [something] to improve, and they spoil [it], they are obligated to pay. [If] one gives a carpenter a chest, a box, or a closet to repair, and he spoils [it], he is obligated to pay.  [If] a builder undertakes to demolish a wall, and he breaks the stones or causes damage, he is obligated to pay. [If] he was demolishing from one side and it fell from another side, he is exempt; but if it was because of the blow, he is liable.
