Yoma4: 3
שְׁחָטוֹ, וְקִבֵּל בְּמִזְרָק אֶת דָּמוֹ וּנְתָנוֹ לְמִי שֶׁהוּא מְמָרֵס בּוֹ עַל הָרוֹבֵד הָרְבִיעִי שֶׁבַּהֵיכָל, כְּדֵי שֶׁלֹּא יִקְרֹשׁ. נָטַל מַחְתָּה וְעָלָה לְרֹאשׁ הַמִּזְבֵּחַ, וּפִנָּה גֶחָלִים אֵילֵךְ וְאֵילֵךְ, וְחוֹתֶה מִן הַמְעֻכָּלוֹת הַפְּנִימִיּוֹת, וְיָרַד, וְהִנִּיחָהּ עַל הָרוֹבֶד הָרְבִיעִי שֶׁבָּעֲזָרָה.
He slaughtered it, received its blood in a basin and gave it to someone who would stir it on the fourth row [of pavement stones] from the Temple, so that it should not coagulate.  He took a shovel and went up to the top of the Altar, cleared away the coals to one side and the other, scooped up from the burned innermost [coals], descended, and put it down on the fourth row in the Courtyard.

בְּכָל יוֹם הָיָה חוֹתֶה בְּשֶׁל כֶּסֶף וּמְעָרֶה בְתוֹךְ שֶׁל זָהָב, וְהַיּוֹם חוֹתֶה בְשֶׁל זָהָב וּבָהּ הָיָה מַכְנִיס. בְּכָל יוֹם חוֹתֶה בְשֶׁל אַרְבַּעַת קַבִּין וּמְעָרֶה בְתוֹךְ שֶׁל שְׁלֹשֶׁת קַבִּין, וְהַיּוֹם חוֹתֶה בְשֶׁל שְׁלֹשֶׁת קַבִּין וּבָהּ הָיָה מַכְנִיס. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: בְּכָל יוֹם חוֹתֶה בְשֶׁל סְאָה וּמְעָרֶה בְתוֹךְ שֶׁל שְׁלֹשֶׁת קַבִּין, וְהַיּוֹם חוֹתֶה בְשֶׁל שְׁלֹשֶׁת קַבִּין, וּבָהּ הָיָה מַכְנִיס. בְּכָל יוֹם הָיְתָה כְבֵדָה, וְהַיּוֹם קַלָּה. בְּכָל יוֹם הָיְתָה יָדָהּ קְצָרָה, וְהַיּוֹם אֲרֻכָּה. בְּכָל יוֹם הָיָה זְהָבָהּ יָרֹק, וְהַיּוֹם אָדֹם; דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מְנַחֵם. בְּכָל יוֹם מַקְרִיב פְּרָס בְּשַׁחֲרִית וּפְרָס בֵּין הָעַרְבַּיִם, וְהַיּוֹם מוֹסִיף מְלֹא חָפְנָיו. בְּכָל יוֹם הָיְתָה דַקָּה, וְהַיּוֹם דַּקָּה מִן הַדַּקָּה.
Every day he would scoop up [the coal] with a silver [shovel] and empty it into one of gold, but today he would scoop with a gold [shovel], and in it he would bring in [the coals].  Every day he would scoop with a four-kab [shovel] and empty [the contents] into one of three kabs, but today he would scoop with one of three kabs and in it he would bring in [the coals].  R' Yose says: Every day he would scoop with a one-seah [shovel] and empty [it] into a three-kab [shovel], but today he would scoop with a three-kab [shovel], and in it he would bring in [the coals].  Every day it was heavy, but today it was light.  Every day its handle was short, but today it was long.  Every day its gold was yellow, but today it was red; [these are] the words of R' Menachem.  Every day he offered a half [maneh of incense] in the morning and a half [maneh] in the afternoon, but today he added his two cupped handfuls.  Every day it was fine, but today it was the finest of the fine.
Yoma4: 5
בְּכָל יוֹם כֹּהֲנִים עוֹלִין בְּמִזְרָחוֹ שֶׁל כֶּבֶשׁ וְיוֹרְדִין בְּמַעֲרָבוֹ. וְהַיּוֹם כֹּהֵן גָּדוֹל עוֹלֶה בָאֶמְצַע וְיוֹרֵד בָּאֶמְצַע. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: לְעוֹלָם כֹּהֵן גָּדוֹל עוֹלֶה בָאֶמְצַע וְיוֹרֵד בָּאֶמְצַע. בְּכָל יוֹם כֹּהֵן גָּדוֹל מְקַדֵּשׁ יָדָיו וְרַגְלָיו מִן הַכִּיּוֹר, וְהַיּוֹם מִן הַקִּיתּוֹן שֶׁל זָהָב. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: לְעוֹלָם כֹּהֵן גָּדוֹל מְקַדֵּשׁ יָדָיו וְרַגְלָיו מִן הַקִּיתּוֹן שֶׁל זָהָב.
Every day the Kohanim go up [to the top of the Altar] along the east side of the ramp and go down along its west, but today the Kohen Gadol goes up in the middle and descends in the middle. R' Yehudah says: The Kohen Gadol always ascends and de-scends in the middle.  Every day the Kohen Gadol would wash his hands and feet from the laver, but today from the golden pitcher. R' Yehudah says: The Kohen Gadol would always wash his hands and feet from the golden pitcher.
Yoma4: 6
בְּכָל יוֹם הָיוּ שָׁם אַרְבַּע מַעֲרָכוֹת, וְהַיּוֹם חָמֵשׁ; דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר. רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: בְּכָל יוֹם שָׁלֹשׁ, וְהַיּוֹם אַרְבַּע. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: בְּכָל יוֹם שְׁתַּיִם, וְהַיּוֹם שָׁלֹשׁ.
Every day there were four pyres, but today [there were] five; these are the words of R' Meir. R' Yose says: Every day [there were] three; but today —- four. R' Yehudah says: Every day —- two; but today —- three.
