Maaser Sheni 3:1-3:4
Ma'aser Sheini3: 1
A person should not say to his friend: “Bring up for me these fruits to Jerusalem, to divide”; rather, he says to him: “Bring them up for us to eat them and drink them [together] in Jerusalem.” But they may give to one another [as] a free gift.
Ma'aser Sheini3: 2
One may not purchase terumah with money of maaser sheni, because he lessens its consumption. But R' Shimon permits. Said to them R' Shimon: If He was lenient with respect to shelamim offerings which leads to [prohibitions of] pigul, nosar, or tamei, shall we not be lenient with respect to terumah? They said to him: If He was lenient with respect to shelamim offerings which are permitted to non-Kohanim, shall we be lenient with respect to terumah, which is forbidden to non-Kohanim?
Ma'aser Sheini3: 3
[If] someone had coins in Jerusalem and he needs them, and his friend has produce, he says to his friend: “These coins are hereby deconsecrated upon your produce.” It thus comes about that one eats his produce in taharah, while the other one makes use of his coins. But one should not say this to an am haaretz, except with demai.
Ma'aser Sheini3: 4
Produce in Jerusalem and coins in the province, he says: “Those coins are hereby deconsecrated upon this produce.” Coins in Jerusalem and fruits in the province, he says: “These coins are hereby deconsecrated upon that produce,” provided that the fruits are brought up and eaten in Jerusalem.
