They are believed regarding raw vegetables; but they are not believed regarding cooked [ones], unless he had a small quantity, because it is the way of a householder to take out of his pot.

One may not give the poor at the thresh-ing floor less than a half-kav of wheat or a kav of barley; R' Meir says: A half-kav. A kav and-a-half of spelt and a kav of dried figs or a maneh of pressed figs; R' Akiva says: A pras. A half-log of wine; R' Akiva says: A quarter. A quarter [-log] of oil; R' Akiva says: An eighth. And all other fruits —- said Abba Shaul: Enough that he can sell them and buy with their proceeds food for two meals.

This measure is said with respect to Kohanim, Leviim, and Yisraelim.  If he was saving, he can take half and give half. If he had a small amount, he puts it before them and they divide among themselves.

We do not give a poor person who is traveling from place to place less than a loaf which costs a pundion when four seahs cost a sela. [If] he stays overnight, we give him provision for night-lodging. [If] he stays over Shabbos, we give him food for three meals.  Whoever has [enough] food for two meals may not take from the [charity] plate. [If he has enough] food for fourteen meals, he may not take from the [charity] fund. The [charity] fund is collected by two and distributed by three.
