A water channel [both sides of] which cannot be harvested at once, R' Yehudah says: It divides. All the hills that are dug with a hoe, even though the ox cannot pass with its implements —- he gives a [single] peah for the whole.

Everything divides for sown produce, but nothing divides for trees except for a wall. If the branches intertwine, it does not divide, rather he gives [one] peah for all [the trees].

With carob trees —- all that see one another. Rabban Gamliel said: It was the practice in my father's house to give a single peah for olive trees which they had on each side [of the city], and for carob trees [they gave a single peah] for all that could see one another. R' Eliezer the son of R' Zadok said in his name: Even for carob trees which they had in the whole city.

[If] one plants his field with one species, even though he makes two harvests, he gives a single peah. [If] he planted it with two species, even though he made one harvest, he gives two peahs. [If] one plants his field with two varieties of wheat, [if] he made one harvest, he gives a single peah; two harvests, he gives two peahs.
